ITs a Starview 1 almost sure its a original not a clone flashing with 257 to be sure (have also tried genuine only)

I start by pluging the box in to the socket and PC and place on stanby (time showing on front) I open GTRomv4.00 it asks me do i want to run, press run then vista asks me do i want to allow the software to run i press "Allow"

I set the Serial Port to Port 1 (same as in device manager properties) Baud Rate is 115200 STB Model GCR 3510. I press Bin File and select the 257 file, Have file type as App File Only.

I press Download, the percentage sceen stays at 0% and then flashing failed and box turns its self on to the channel number display.

i would try changing the com port to 2 3 or 4 in device manager, leave the gtrom loader alone, dont change a thing on it and see if that works, if its done eurovox before it should work before long

hi i hope this isnt in the wrong place...

i have "the box" not a clone 4.54e

all the channels are black, bad or scrambled (apart from bbc & itv)

am i rite in thinking that simply in-putting new codes wont work?!

do i now need to update/flash my box? (as desrcibed on the first page of this thread?)

    thanks

not that i know of, where did you download the gtrom and firmware from, try deleting it and download it again from the link in my signature below, rule out the possibility of a corrupt file at least.

O sorry tought i did, i used it before to flash eurovoxs, i reflashed my eurovox today to be sure and it worked fine. I redownloaded the file 257 and the genuine 1 as well as the rom loader from the link on this page. Still have same problem, i tried even uploading a channel file and that failed 2.
