STARVIEW UPDATING FIRMWARE - NO CODE BEGGING HERE

hi all, just wondering if anybody can help, i flashed my box a few weeks ago and its been fine, it has updated itself the last time they changed there codes, but the time seems to be a bit flucked up just now, it changes to a wrong time about a day after i sort it. can anyone help me to stop it changing. thanks

Hi can anybody help please. Myself and my brother both have the same starview box which I updated with the new firmware a couple of months ago. Mine is still working fine but my brothers has suddenly stopped working. It is as if it is frozen on 1 channel but no picture on the screen. Cannot do nothing with the box. I have tried to download the firmware again but it keeps failing. Any ideas???

 

Open it up and look for any bulging or blown capacitors.

 

Have opened it and I can see anything. Is there any specific place I should be looking?

c mon guys help me out here when i switch my sv 1 on the GREEN light moves 1 2 3 4 then stops tryed everything i have read here but still nothing also got stuf from eamo but still nothing is the sv dead

 

try pressing download and have the sview off at the back switch. then switch it on 2 seconds later and wait. if it doesn't start try again it takes a few tries sometimes.

 

Hi folks,starting out here,trying my best to follow the directions.Where i've got to is i press download and nothing happens on the progress bar-it stays at 0%-i've tried turning the box on and off numerous times, i've tried putting both the cryptstar core 257(mine is genuine)or the the box_ireland downloads in the bin dialog, i've tried downloading device drivers, all to no avail-it just sits there at 0%.Someone else updated it once before for me,so it is possible.Im using a USB connection,The Bin box only accepts COM3,so I presume this is where i am connected(I looked in device drivers as suggested,it doesn't register).Ive wasted 3 hours on it now,am out of ideas,so if anyone has any suggestions,either for me to try or a place to go in Dublin(difficult.I guess!),please let em know.

Have you tried the Bad Flash method, you do need to keep at it, been known to work immediately and on other occasions it's taken over 20 attempts, check it out here courtesy of Celtic >>

be a bit more specific about what box you have, clone, original, super, but smells like eurovox to me though!

 

Hello I am a newbie and in need of a little help and assistance.

I have recently purchased a Starview The Box Super. Sadly I am experiencing difficulty in updating the machine.

As far as I can ascertain the box is in working order. I have connected it to my TV via my incoming cable (Virgin) and have scanned for channels. The box has detected 200+ channels many of which are scrambled. The rest I can view as per normal TV.

I am aware that I have to update the (Firmware?) but alas this is where my problems begin. When I connect the box to my computer via a null modem cable DB9F to DB9F it appears that my computer cannot see the box. For example I do not get the usual, found new hardware/wizard messages. I have connected the box via the nine pin socket on the back of the computer and via a USB 2.0 serial adapter both to no avail. (The software for the USB adapter has been downloaded and the programme is in All Programs) The box is connected to power has booted and I can switch from Standby to On. After that nothing!

Could somebody please assist me in my plight?
