Depends when you got it really, if you only recently purchased it, then it will probably need the latest firmware - only real difference in recognising visually is the newer model has an extra TV output, it has internal (tongue in cheek) tuner etc. improvements, if this is what you have then it is the GTRom_Super_709e you should use - if it is the earlier model then better to stick with the 6.01.

Well it only has one tv output, if i try 709 will that cause any damage?
I have a signal booster on my n*l cable, maybe that could be effecting it?

Hi There, I tried this method and got the Download Complete message. But when the box restarts it goes back to the one green light and will not go any further. I have the correct software & firmware so can you suggest what I might be doing wrong? I have a genuine starview and am using it in Ireland with "The Box" firmware.

If you have a Starview why are you using "The Box" firmware?

You have downloaded the wrong firmware to your SV, hence your problem. Look at page 1 of this very thread http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/663923#4033220 and as you will see all the info is there for you ;)

You may need to use the bad flash method either way with the correct firmware or you may get lucky.
