    please can anyone help me. I have a genuine sv box with software from 2007. I have tried re-flashing a dozen times and it keeps failing. I have used the correct cables and ports.
    and used the genuine crystar 257 software along with the gtrom software.

    hi, cable is brand new, in fact i have two lots of leads which i am using with a usb adaptor.
    I am currently on API: 4.51e_E, boot ver:7.0 jul 2007.
    when i connect up and select the bin file and down load, nothing moves on the download bar, and keeps popping stating relashing failed

    Be clear as to which Box you have, your previuos post indicated that it was Starview 1 and now you are talking about firmware for Starview 2 The Box, which is it. The 4.51e_E is SV2 The Box ?

    the cable may still be the wrong one even though its new needs to be the right one with part number L71BT.

    sorry not a techno, the software installed on the box is as i copied in my previous post. My box has 7 colums of 25 vents on it with 'the box' on the labelling.

    Well if that's the case and you are in the UK and have the 4.51 version then you should not need to update - that is the most stable in UK. What is the problem if any?

    my problem is that i am not getting a lot of the channels including even bbc;s and itv, let alone sports and movies.
    I assumed that i needed to upgrade my software and firmware to get the channels. if i dont need to upgrade, please can you advise what i should do.

    press menu then 1570 then turn the emu on hit the default key then exit back out and if that aint it rescan the box

    i have changed emu to on and set default as stated. Currently rescanning.

    You should have done a Factory Reset before scanning, but see how you go on now, you may have duplicate channels.
