    Hi all,
Wondering if you could help. I am trying to gat all channels again and think I need to put new firmware on - I have done this before with no problem(using a PC rather than a lap top though) but cant work out what I am doing wrong at the mo.
When I press download after getting the file in the BIN file bit it says "Model Number is empty" - think something should be in the STB model but I dont know what!
    Any ideas appreciated.
    regards
    Px

You need CryptStar-v1.4-Core257.bin, which you can get from the link below. It's in the Starview / Firmware folder. This is the clonesafe version, and as has been mentioned before, there are versions of this floating around that are the Core400 version that have been renamed, which will kill a clone.

7.09 is for an SV3. Either way, press menu, type 1570 on remote and see if key emu is on.

Good to see you too scouser. I was trawling through when I saw that particular message, and felt I had to repeat the warning about the renamed files. One of these days, I must upload one of my altered files, safe of course, just so that anyone who wants to download it and try it out can see the obvious difference when they go to the system info on their sv.
