I only sing when were winning BTW I seen the search for PPV channel as usual they will always get it no need for a friendly neighbour for VOD. Just patience and looking at TvCh channels or BICs channels. As you said its been covered many times

You`ll have to flash it yourself as all boxes now come FTA only.

I was wondering will updating the firmware allow the starview box to access the codes automatically?

 

yes mate it will no problem

 

Right the box was working fine but now it cant get any channels 0%. The API ver is 4.50e_E Boot ver 7.0 5th july 2007. Would it be the best course to but updated firware?

 

1 make sure your incoming cable is connected to the cable input on the box and not going thru a splitter

2 Make sure you have a scart lead connected to the tv on the box and connected to AV1 or EXT1 only
also make sure you check this as been a proper working scart

3 Next go to menu factory settings and press ok put in 0000 code press ok to clear all data

4 Make sure you turn the box off at the mains for 1 min and turn back on again

5 Accept the language

6 Installation put your provider in the top box then do an auto scan wait for this to finish even if you see
failed a few times this is normal so just be patient till it has finished

7 When this is finished exit out to main tv screen

8 Then go to menu and press 1570 on the key pad into secret menu and turn the EMU on which has been switched off by default

9 Exit out 3 times to main screen and put the box on to the tv channel sky sports 1 and wait for this to update this
could go up as far as 250% so again be patient and wait also do not change the channel while
this is been done or you will have to start all over again

 

Ferg have you any info regarding Jtagging the Box Super? I have one here that will not pull in any TPs regardless of the Firmware I put on it I also tried the FTA , I have downloaded a CDF for my area and it still will not come out of the installtion language screen, I know the CDF went on because I uploaded it back from the box and it's fine but it will not let me exit to the TV screen.

I've Jtagged a few starviews and EV's but never on the box super.

Never jtaged a super only thebox and the starview 1 that box should still be under warranty so why not send it back to the supplier

 

No its second hand so not under warranty, no problem i'll have a look around and see if theres any info about, thanks anyway.

 

Scouser might know more about that box as i say i never looked inside one so would not even be aware of where the jtag points would be

One thing i will say is that if you are getting no picture and it is always on the language screen after scanning i would be seriously looking at the tuner on the box

As I would say that is where the problem lies if the box is turning on it will not need a jtag

 

Hi Ferg nope have to admit never had to Jtag one either, so looks like HiTeck will be the first

@HiTeck apologies answered your pm, but as Ferg said it could be a tuner issue also. May be something as simple as a dry joint though. Although could also be a corrupt TSOP due to the problem you have with the menu and different flash files not working.

 

Also another thing to bear in mind is there will be no tsop for the super so if you are going to try and jtag it this might be a problem

take the unit out and look at the tuner solder joints as scouser has said

Does the 23V power the tuner by any chance?
