Bet he was trying to watch JB Sports

 

The warning message is an old trick and nothing to worry about, regarding his channels "snowy screen" tell him to check his cables and make sure his TV is on the correct AV, also if using a RF out lead make sure his TV is set on the right channel.

 

hey lads,
i finally got the firmware onto the box super, found a really old pc to use instead of the usb adaptor and that done the trick immediately. i put on 7.09 and its showing up in the info menu so i presume it loaded correctly.
i then factory reset and i set the provider as N*L and did an auto scan which picked up like 158 channels or thereabouts. i went into menu and hit 1570 and turned on the emu. but when i exit out a message is showing up saying
"info - data is being updated (0%)"
this stays on the screen and wont go past 0%. none of the channels are working at all, just black screen. i exited out to sky sports like a few people said but still to no avail.
the radio stations all work fine.

any ideas on whats wrong?

try going back into the menu, type 1570 and press the set default key then exit back to sly sports and leave it update

 

axxo, i tried that a few times now but still not updating. i've pressed the default key button and a message about it saving pops up for less than a second then i exit out to the tv on sky sports and it still does nothing. im nearly giving up on the box at this stage

 

Turn the b0x off at the back for about 20 secs, turn back on & set default key, s*y sports etc again & it should update.

 

If you are in the Uk you should have the V8.00 on your box

if in Ireland the V7.09

with regard to the box not updating do the menu 1570 turn off the EMU and exit out to tv channel when you see bad or scrambled channel go back to the menu 1570 and hit the default key first then turn on the EMU on again then exit to a scrambled channel if it is still stuck turn the box off at the back and then back on again ok

tried that there but still nothing. do i need to go into the hidden menu and exit back out of it three times to get it to work?

i should also mention, i dropped the box earlier but i dont think this has anything to do with it because everything else about it is working fine

 

Try what fergus suggested & let us know how you get on.

 

still no luck with it. im in ireland by the way. in kildare. n*l is my provider.

lads its working!!! haha, im so relieved at this stage. i just kept messing with it, changing the settings and resetting them and all of a sudden it updated!!

If you are in kldare your provider is not NTL but chorus

 

well im in leixlip so im just on the edge of ntl's area

 

Leixlip is co kildare not kildare so you are on NTL

 

Hi just noticed only 14 channels found when i do an Auto scan after a factory reset in the liverpool area. any one can help plz?

 

Do another now there has been major disruption to VM area's today, you should be okay now.

Just got the sv3, everything installed ok. But after the automatic scan I don't have any of the Irish stations (RTE1, RTE2, TV3, TG4 etc) or skysports 1.

Any ideas?

If you do a manual scan with 339.500. you should be sorted!!
