No there is not, and as for Steam it took me just over an hour to unlock the Hl2 game files. a realy anoying feature as you d'ont realy know as to wether or not its actualy doing anything.
Hi mate its been a busy sort of year you know, started to reply to your post last night but i lost my internet connection half way through (No pun intended). In my little part of the Uk its not been a bad summer, not as hot as yours i would imagine. I also changed jobs, less money but now i'm working with a good bunch of lads not like the wankers that i used to. All that aside i pretty much hav'nt been on the pc at all, spent most of the summer out in the garden or wherever with the wife and kids. Ironicly my wife cooked me Brains faggots on Monday night as a treat and i thought of you and Prisoner, and after enduring 3 hours of Christmas shopping the next day i looked back at the AD forums. Moderator now eh your not going to bollock me for taking part in what seems to be 2 threads that is taking the piss out of steam? Started playing HL2 Tuesday and it was WOW i got killed so much just for stopping and looking around, anyway i'll po over to the steam tread later to slag it off properly. Steam's forum server's been down since last night. Everyone's complaining about the mandatory use of disc in drive with HL2 retail and even CS Source. I'm trying to submitt my own complaint but can't log in. I hope this problem is fixed as soon as possible.
Its to be expected HL2 was always going to be big i was suprised i got to register so quickly. However you can start the game in offline mode once its registered.
I still need to get my hands on some of Mr. Brains finest. Glad to hear you're working with some good fellows - it truly makes a big differece. Feel free to take the piss out of steam all you want - I think the setup is a crock anyway I called ATI today and got my hard copy ordered. The pricks gave an 8 - 10 week delivery time but I don't really care at this point. I'd rather wait and have a full hard copy than have to install some stupid app in order to play the game.
