Stop the witch hunt

i started this site with dial-up and that was way before they had these signature rules, and i never had a problem,if thats the case why dont they just put an option for the members of aD to choose weather or not they want to see the sigs.....Dial-up users can turn them off,that would save a lot of trouble about these Sig Issues and the real hardworking members here at aD will have more time to help istead of creating a thread like this.......

 

My sig is 40 something KB ....Don't know what you are talking about.....

I have every right to join in this thread and have a right to this opinion...........I can't this..RULES ARE RULES.....Just because mods PM you you think that you are the only ones....Just fix it.....Jeez....How do you know that newbies don't get pm'd....God this is so stupid

And I talk to the mods on IRC and I have found that they think alot of addicts and Seniors think they are an exception to the rules......I'm not stupid....

 

this is not about forum rules,we have no problem with the forum rules and as you can see we have all complied...this is about the state that aD is in and why it isn't changing...it probably wont change(hopefully it does and soon) and if it dont then i am sure a lot of the people from this thread will be gone from these forums, you know tocool the ones that actually help people....anyways when somebody important makes a post i will make another one....

 

no point of explaining it ridges, i have multiple times and its going through the ears. Hopefully the admin read this and see the problem.

Since I don't agree with your "opinion" I can't post because I am not "important"............The mods can do what they want..If dRD didn't like the way this site is running then he would change it........Jeez I swear just because of you get Pms about your sig being over the limit...so what. They do that to alot of people...I have gotten Pm'd before because of my sig.......There are over 500,000 members they can't catch all of them....And they usually see the Seniors and Addicts posts.......because they are dedicated,people that don't post alot aren't really noticed by the mods.

you know just cause you called in the mods to suspend me doesnt mean the problem is going away..im trying to save aD, if that means i have to be an internet matyr (lol) so be it...
suspend me while kids in the consoles go around cursing and insulting addicts and seniors...they get off with warnings...

 

I must concur with a lot of the other sentiments here. I've got over 6,000 posts, 5 stickies, and drawn a ton of site traffic for AD, and I feel my input should matter. The same person reported my sig twice. I posted an angry blog about it, but kept any malcontent out of the forums or PM's to the staff. The first time I resized the sig, the second time, I refused, my exact words were F**k it, ban me. DDP comprimised with me. I felt the comprimise was reasonable, so I complied.

This is a microcosm of a much bigger problem. The mods who frequent the console forums know what I mean. There's BS advice being passed along, flamewars left and right, spammers, and blatant attempts to inflate post counts. There are now flamewars in shoutboxes. What has happened to this site? I joined about a year ago, and it wasn't like this back then. People used to have repsect for one another, and the courtesy to respect differences of opinion. With all those things going on, put yourself in our position. There are [bold]much bigger[/bold] problems here than sigs a couple kB's/lines over the limit. I'll tell you what it looks like to me. It looks like a desperate attempt to gain control. Why else would the staff cater to obviously petty requests? If a reported infraction is obviously petty and motivated by personal grudges, why is it enforced? By acting on these trifling requests, the staff legitimizes these petty, wannabe mods. There are bigger fish to fry. If the goal of the sig nonsense is to take back the forums, it's pointless. The console forums are not a lost cause. They could be taken back with hard work. If the spammers, noobs, flamers, and post inflaters were banned repeatedly, warned, and disciplined for their constant idiocy, things would change. I get the sense the mods are tired. I don't blame them. I feel the problem lye higher up. There's only 5 active mods, no way they can police the massive forums here. Why not bring in more dedicated people? Why not give mods the power to IP ban people? I feel the admin here has long since given up. There are obvious avenues which are left untraveled. A moderator is a voluntary position, if the people getting paid to work here don't care, why should people who don't? This may be my coup de gras here. So be it, I can leave this site knowing I left it better than when I got here. Peace.

Nice to see things have'nt changed while I was away...one of the very reasons I've closed up shop!

its not about the sigs...its about the fact that mods take time away from moderating to send us PMs when our sigs are 600 bytes, YES BYTES, over the limit and threatening to ban us...
