@SirRanRap not all of them are from the shawshank redemption. the first one is lethal weapon 2, the second one is doom, the third and fourth ones are from saw and saw2 respectivly, and the last one is the green mile. i have no idea what yours is from. ill see if i can look it up *EDIT* sorry SirRanRap wasnt paying attention put cyprusrom by mistake till i was corrected
@Polyarny, I think you SirRanRap is the one that figured out "The Shawshank Redemption"! I totally love that movie! SirRanRap, Is that quote from "Love Story" or "Love and death"?
Cyrpusrom's "Yeah I called her up, she gave me a bunch of crap about me not listening to her, or something, I don't know, I wasn't really paying attention. (answered already?) I think this one is Dumb and Dumber. IHoe: I removed the character names, and incriminating evidence, and cut the firefighter one down to size. I was just thinking about my favorite quotes.
@Ashroy...... there are only 2 things I like about your quotes.... ONE IS THE PICTURE OF THE GREY GOOSE! Love that vodka!! and: [bold]Firefighter: Why aren't you wearing your pants, Joe? Lance: I tripped, and uh then I had to take 'em off to run faster out of the flames...[/bold] that was funny..... the rest was like spouting out quotes from anything that was written down..... like the Goldfinger one? Are these your favorite quotes? ok..............
ok....... if you say so! LOL but I though this is [bold]STUMPER QUOTES[/bold] hahahaha to even mention the name of the movie in the quote just doesn't stump anyone! LOL Just kidding with ya!
Here is from another one that I just finished burning and watched it again: [bold]--You rush a miracle man, you get rotten miracles --A word, my lady. We are but poor, lost circus performers. Is there a village nearby? There is nothing nearby... Not for miles. Then there will be no one to hear you scream. --You never said anything about killing anyone. I've hired you to help me start a war. It's an prestigious line of work, with a long and glorious tradition. I just don't think it's right, killing an innocent girl. Am I going MAD, or did the word "think" escape your lips? You were not hired for your brains, you hippopotamic land mass...And remember this, never forget this: when I found you, you were so slobbering drunk, you couldn't buy Brandy! --You seem a decent fellow. I hate to kill you. You seem a decent fellow. I hate to die. --We face each other as God intended. Sportsmanlike. No tricks, no weapons, skill against skill alone. You mean, you'll put down your rock and I'll put down my sword, and we'll try and kill each other like civilized people?[/bold] An older movie that entertains me everytime I watch it!
@Polyarny @ Cyprusrom: I have the same last name as the lead character in Shawshank Redemption which makes it wierd watching it. I don't even remember his first name in the movie they always call him by his last. If I'm watching the flick and my attention strays, when someone calls his name from the tv set, I jump three feet in the air! Perhaps that wouldn't be the case if I changed my last name to Smith or Johnson!....Gerry
yes, Andy Dufresne ... I'd forgotten his first name but by god, you even spelled the last name right! When people come to my office, they always ask to speak with Mr. Du-fress-knee. My name is mispronounced 99% of the time. I use to correct people many years ago but gave up; I pretty much answer to anything that starts with a "D" LOL! It never fails when I watch it; I'll get slightly inattentive with something then I hear from the TV "HEY DUFRESNE!!" and I jump out of my skin.
Is that French, or where does it come from? My name(last and first) is mispronounced 100% of the time...so I just shortend it( Ciprian-> Chip!)
Hi cyprusrom: yes, it is french. I think I am the only one in Philadelphia. Like every thing else he does, Shawshank takes place in New England which, as you may or may not know (don't know where you're from) borders on Quebec which is french. There are (were) large pockets of Quebecois all throughout New England when they immigrated south of the border for work in the 30s -50s (like my family). Anyway, "Dufresne" is probably the most common name in any phone book in Quebec...like "Smith" or "Johnson" in the US; there are lots of dufresnes throughout New England.
Well gerrry, right now I am in Wisconsin, I moved a few years ago. It is cold here and it just keeps on snowing...is been a while since I took French in highschool, but it sounded French! How about another quote. Is not from a movie, is by one of my childhood idols:~)!:
ok..... if you're going to give quotes from other venues than movies..... then here's one I like: what TV show did this one come from? the hint is built into the quote!
