as of late, i have now seen a few red 'x's on my pages..... not all pages show this 'x'. i'd like to know how i got it and how do i get rid of it. i have done a google search and found a few guides and such, but none of the actions have resolved my issue. i am using IE6 with SP2, but never had this problem until about a month ago. it does not really bother me that much, but does get annoying seeing it the majority of the time. i am also using NIS and Firewall, along with spysweeper 4.0 and whatever other security items packed with SP2. i checked my registry and a few things were changed, so i set them to defaults (by the google search) but nothing changes. i also did a system restore to an earlier date, fixed it temporarily, but has returned........... any clues????

the red x's are from sites that are hosting peoples' sigs that might be off line for various reasons. don't worry about it.

well, its not just a random experience, its everyday.....and on a few usual sites, for example, yahoo's home page and a few others. works fine on my other pc and work pc.
i am searching my registry to see if there are errors, ran registry mechanic and found over 300 + errors.
in microsoft's site, it says that my firewall or possibly anti virus may be the problem, i am reading up on it. but thanks for the input.

Just download firefox and only use IE if you absolutely have to, like say, with microsoft related sites and such. And try looking around the forum, i bet the guys here also know the little trick to make firefox read 100x faster :)

There are firefox tweaks available, you can type in by hand, or you could just use firetune.

To the rest,im glad you liked my little x.
I know it has nothing to do with the problem, but it seemed like the appropriate place to use it.LOL

ok, update........ i have d/l firefox, up and running, i like it so far, BUT......... even in firefox, i see blocked out images. i have attempted to configure settings and proxies, and i seem to be getting nowhere. i just hate not being able to see whole pages at times. i went thru the tweaks and tips, java'a FAQ page, nothing.........i even did a system restore to an earlier date, it tells me i cant go back that far. (i am trying a 'known good' date). i d/l registry mechanic too, but since its a trial version, it does not tell me much.... any ideas?
