Hey can anyone help me solve this problem...I'm not sure which memory to get. Its between:
    OCZ Gold PC6400 DDR2 2048MB and OCZ Platinum PC2-6400 EL XTC 2048MB

The Platinum costs less thatn the gold which really confused me and they have more or less the same specs if you click the link you can see:
    http://www.komplett.co.uk/k/kcp.asp?sku=320744&sku=320721

Theres only the CAS timings which are different but I dont understand what they are :S

    Thanks, Kash

Ok well my budget is £700 to £800 max incl. everything (even p+p)
But excluding the power supply then take off about £75-£80

    Whatever, yeah, OK then.

Like I say, get lots of RAM, still do not know why others are recommending 1gig instead of 2.

Would like to know why that is......Any takers?

I thought 2 gb would be excessive over totally nothing actually i would only play a couple of games prehaps encode a couple of dvd rips 2 gb is waste then don't u think plus i have a budget to keep i'm still 15 u know

I was reading on the internet that core 2 duo is faster than the amd fx62 chip but it doesn't have a memory controller on the chip so it has to use the motherboard front side bus for it's proccessing. And the AMD chip is designed better. Is this true?
