    Does it work, or is it me, or Vista?

    Despite latest version (like about 2 weeks old)

    1/ On start up i get lot stuff about not being in the admin mode & not working correctly

    2/ When i try to close it down it tells me it 'can't write some file' - to which i would have to say 'so what! - you don't work anyway so just close' - but it doesn't - if i close it with task manager it won't restart and only total reboot works

    3/ Screen very confusing and lot of advanced settings that should be tucked away some where for people that know what they are

    4/ It doesn't even seem to adopt any default settings for people who don't know how many bits per second should be in the video (like me)

    tried to convert a simple .mpeg video (which it doesn't even recognise - so i had to rename it .mpg) into .mp4 (which works on my mobile) - it converted it to .mpeg ???????? - which obviously doesn't work

    4/ Tried to convert lots other files (originally got it because it claims to convert .mkv video)

    It hasn't converted a single file correctly

    OK it's free - but so is the flu - and i don't want that either

    Should i persist or is this just a big pile of poop?

    Sounds like it's a bit buggy, as you've probably gathered. Why not just downgrade to a more stable version? Like you said, it's only two weeks old...

    thing is the older version was the same - and the new version is supposed to be 'Vista compatable' - but it isn't

    What video conversion software do you use?

    I'm actually thinking about buying AVS Video Convertor

    @rav009
    I've had great success with DVD Flick-quality, subtitles, speed(for me is faster than latest Nero Vision 4). Have not personally tried Internet Video Converter, as I only convert from different formats to DVD. It is however supposed to be quite versatile, convert to iPod/PSP compatible video...
