Hi, any help will be much appreciated!!!!!

I received my Starview 3 (The Box Super) on Tuesday. It's a 100% geniune (checked off this forum) the API version is 6.00e_E Boot Version 8.0.

I Spent Wednesday reading this forum on flashing/updating the firmware. I downloaded all the Gtrom files 4, 6, 7, 8 (to be on the safe side) and the bin file for Gtrom4. I then realized i needed the USB-RS232 cable as i have a newer computer. The Starview box came with a Null Modem Cable (i think).

I Recieved the cable on Wednesday and followed forum guide lines on flashing my box. This is were the problems started, i kept getting error code "Cant open serial port", on coms 1-4 after pressing the download button. I then followed the guide on changing the com ports (in device manager) so they match.

After changing port to com 1 i was then able to press the download button and the percentage bar would show but it would stick on 0% for about 15 seconds and then a box would appear saying "Flash Update Fail". I have tried all the gtrom versions and i does the same thing.

The 1 test i have done is by disconnecting the null modem cable from the starview and repeating the download proceedure and it does the same thing as above. When i plug the Null back into the box an egg timer flashes (over the mouse cursor) for a couple of seconds!!!

Any help with this would great guys as i am inching to get this working in all its glory!!!!

    Thanks......V

Hi, thanks for the quick response! Yes when i first got it I scanned for *tl (thats who im with) but it did'nt pick any channels. I then scanned TW and it picked up about 330 and found all the channels i was after but i couldnt view them as they had the $ sign (is that scrabbled by any chance?). The channels i could watch were the normal freeview ones.

    hope this helps

Press menu > 1570 & see if you can access the CAS menu

Hi, yes i can enter the hidden menu using 1570, and the emu is turned on. I tried putting some codes in but they were older ones and it is pretty tuff to find the latest ones so i sacked that idea!

    cheers

Go to "set default key" in the CAS menu & press ok. Exit to s*y sports & let it update. You should get all your channels back.
