    Hi,

I have expected some problems with SVCD on my standalone DVD.
I'm able to read it perfectly but i'm unable to fastfoward or rewind it.

My standalone DVD is a JVC XVS3000BK
The orignal movie was an avi that i encode in mpeg with TMPGEnc.
I use Nero 5.5.10 to burn it so I'm not supposed to add the scandata.dat file.

Can someont tell me if it's a problem with my standalone DVD or if I done something wrong.

    Thx

that scandat file is supposed to work with most dvd players, but not all. I had the same problem and I tried a trick where I replaced the scandat file with my own that all it had was 'scan_dat' text message and that worked.

I am using a top of the line Sony DVD and have found that with some of the SVCD discs I have made, all of the remote control features work on my DVD. In some cases only a few of the features work. My screen display tells me what is working and what is not. I believe pushing your stop button twice on your remote will bring your disc back to the starting point.
