    Hi everyone,

I noticed that the time on my laptop was a bit off. I went into Date and Time > Internet Time and saw that Windows was supposed to automatically synchronize with time.windows.com . When I tried to Update Now, I got the generic "An error has occurred when trying to synchronize to the time server". I tried changing it to time.nist.gov, and I get the same error. No router, firewall disabled, internet working fine.

    Any ideas?

I've seen this issue before. Some time servers just plain don't work for some reason.

I would give this one a try as it usually works: time-a.nist.gov

If that doesn't work you could try any of the following:

    time.windows.com
    time.nist.gov
    time-nw.nist.gov
    time-a.nist.gov
    time-b.nist.gov
    tick.usno.navy.mil

Also, you could always do a quick Google search as there are lots of Time Servers around.

    Hope that helps....
