Hi I just got a new Plextor SATA DVD+/-RW and installed it to find that windows XP pro sp2 does not see it. The BIOS sees it just fine. I went into Admin tools and no dice.
The drive has power, opens & closes etc.

    Help!

Is that a SATA RAID connection, as opposed to an IDE connection? If so, I think that you will need to install the SATA/RAID drivers for your motherboard for the system to recognise it. The BIOS would recognise, it but not necessarily your OS.

Got it working . . . . My Abit IC7-G had BIOS rev.26. I updated to rev.28 and it just started working.
