Hi, Location: Dublin, Ireland PVR Device: The Box (Starview 2) API Version: 4.51e_E Boot Version: 7.0 9.Jul 2007 Provider: N*L Issue: Channels have disappeared. Went to Sky Sports 2 and updating went to 150% then back to 0%. Done a factory reset and still the same issue. Channels are found but only one or two will display. Does the Firmware need to be updated? Also same Box in area with similar problems I have downloaded The_Box_4.55.rar and v4.03_051005.exe but am hesitant to update just in case i have the wrong files. Please advise. Thanks in advance.
Ive just updated mine with 4.55 and works fine, all channels back, install the firmware, do a rescan, look for S*y2 and let it update it might loop back to zero while updating but should sort it's self out at around 60%

Can anyone help please. Just purchased the Hub cables and a USB converter so i can update the firmware on The Box. I have extracted The Box_h20081204_455eE_api bin file to my desktop. I have double clicked on the v4.03_051005 downloader and a dialogue box appears. COM Settings= Serial Port: COM1 Baud Rate: 115200 STB Settings= STB Model: GCR3510 Bin File: h20081204_455eE File Type: App File Only (Checked) Then when i select the Download button i get an error message which reads: Can't Open Serial Port Last Error: The system cannot find the file specified. Is the firmware update etc, the correct one for the Dublin area. Any help is much appreciated. EDIT: I can see that my USB to Serial Comm Port is connected to Com7 in device manager. And the 4.03 downloader only goes to Com4. Went into advanced settings in device manager and changed to Com1, Files updating

Flashed Box successfully with latest firmware. I had to try several channels before it updated. Happy days, all is back to normal. Great stuff. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/674371 Thanks for all the info and help folks *Closed*
Yea cheers dude Whats the story with them going down like that? I read somewhere that they have been scrambled at this time of year for the last 4 years. Whats the difference between the Firmware update and inputing the codes? Does the Firmware update the box automatically whereas the codes have to be updated manually. Again thanks to everyone.
