    That is brilliant mate, cheers.

Thanks to all the guys that got this up and running.

I've read through a few posts regarding some hassels getting this flashed, hopefully I won't have any issues *fingers crossed*

Totally straight forward, don't forget to use the correct loader, it is supplied with the updated firmware, GTRom 4.03 okay.

I'm still waiting on my USB to Serial converter from fleabay aarrrgghhhh!!! Will do this when it arrives. I presume Vista won't f*ck it all up for me will it?

It could do - you will need the correct drivers for Vista, they should be supplied with the USB Adaptor, if you have problems just post and you will get help.

Tried it both way's and no problems at all, I have just flashed over the 8.02 fix, direct with the 4.55 (just to test) have a spare lying around, again no problems at all, you must use the the GTRom 4.03 Loader - and everything will be fine.

Sorry to be a pain again to everyone, ive not had time to sort my box out yet ,was out all day yesterday, but just noticed a couple of things:- what the difference between these GTROM 4.03 and GTROM 4.00 and how do i know which ive got. And also there seems to be another new update available other than the 4.55 on the main "LATEST FIXES HERE" page released yesterday(6/12/08) quoting the `latest hassle free update`, its a bit confusing 2bh, which one is best to use OR do i have to use both?.....Thanks JR

If you are in UK and have the Starview 2 The Box, and you want to know what firmware you have on it, then just press Menu, go down to System Information and your version of firmware will be there, (post what it say's) if it was updating by it's self until recently then you will have had 4.51 or higher. And if you want to update the box the firmware is in Eamo's FTA Library in The Box folder, it is linked at the bottom of my post, get the updated firmware from there okay, and the GTRom 4.03 is the Loader you must use (it is not a case of which is best) - it is supplied along with instructions with the firmware, just unzip it with Winrar.

Starview what box, is it SV1,SV2 The Box, or what, if it says simply Starview in the top right corner, then you have Starview 1, and there is no update for that box at the minute, so it is a Manual input for you I'm afraid.
