do i download firmware on to the USB?

 

follow these instructions after downloading ver 1.05 fix onto your usb stick Instructions SV4 Supr USB

To load the files just drag them on to a memory stick and then put the memory stick in the USB port at the back of the receiver.
Then press the menu button on the remote there you will see USB at the bottom of the screen.
Just highlight USB with the remote then you will see the (Box Super USB Bin file) appear on the screen.
Highlight "theboxsuperusb_v1.01_beta" with the remote and press the ok button then you will see the file start loading in to the Box.
Once that is complete, do that again but with the "TheBoxSuperUSB_BG_LOGO_080904" file.

Once that is done,

• Turn on the box, press menu and go to installation,
• Select correct provider i.e. NTL, C/W or TW
• Then automatic scan
• Once the channels are found, exit back to the blank screen
• Press menu then 1570,
• Go down to the bottom option and turn EMU to ON.
• Now exit 3 times and go to S*y Sports and let it update.

 

done all that but the bottom option says keycode rather than EMU?

 

yes should be keycode not emu, what can you pick up if anything?

 

I can pick up all channels that you would usually get on a freeview box. the rest have dollar signs next to them and don't work.

 

go back to menu and ensure keycode is defo on,if it is switch off and then back on, exit to a prem channel and see what happens. if that dont work try switching box of at rear and leave for 30 secs and try again.

have you chosen your correct provider before scanning ie tw,ntl,how many channels does it say it has picked up?

 

It seems that you have set the box up properly and scanned and found your channels, however if you are in the UK, then you need this firmware on your box 301108 UK Firmware Fix to unscramble the $ sign channels, you may have to do a fresh Installation after updating the firmware, if not UK, then you should have the v1.05 firmware.
You will find them in Eamo's FTA Library at the bottom of post.

 

so iv'e got all the channels working now but only have sound on channels 1-5. any advise?

 

I set up two sets of The Box Super USB today.

With both boxes I have encountered the same problem. In the installation, the automatic scanning process for TW cable channels freezes at 28 channels (ca. 22%).

Any ideas?
