the box uk fix and loader

Can vouch for the EPG, picture just the same, Gerrard08 do you know if you were running 4.54 before you put the fix on.

 

Murz...i was on 452ee..before the update..

this is what i did...
1: loded new firmware
2: once update was completed, Set Default Key and changed some numbers for both 00 an 01, just any numbers.

3: then turn the box on and off, that was it....nothing complicated, my emu was already on.

 

Mine stuck aswell.
I think I used the Cryptstar 1.4 last time which had the software built in to the program if you get what I mean.

Ive reflashed doing 454e then the new one but still no joy, stuck on ON...
No Tv tonight then...Oh no!!!

 

hello all where can i get the new firmware from could u post me a link plz also which boxes does it work on i need to flash about 30 sv2 and 30 sv3 super also 2 sv4 pvr`s iv been selling these boxes for about a year and had soo many calls from customers just want to get them all sorted b4 christmas cheers jamie

Cryptstar was for the Starview mk1 mate, i know its not what you want to hear but i would leave it for Scouser to work out, i'd hate to give out advice and knacker eveyones box.

iv found firmware for the sv super is it ok to load onto the boxes or not coz these are the most important ones to fix for me?

 

Version 4.54 for UK & Ireland

If you are upgrading from 4.51 or earlier then flash 4.54 first then afterwards flash the logo file. If you already have 4.52 on or later then just flash the 4.54 straight on without it. You must use the new Loader Software v4.3


Just found this. I already have 4.54 on my box but not sure if a logo file has been loaded. I am taking it if the logo file wasn't on it then it just wouldn't work so as mine was working before the autoroll stopped then I wouldn't need to put the logo file on for flashing with the fix?

 

I think you're right KMCL.

I'm 99% sure that you had to flash the logo file after updating to 4.54e or it just wouldn't work, so assuming your box is working correctly with 4.54e, then you don't need to use the logo file with the new firmware (even though some folk are having problems, mines working fine with the new update)

flashed 3 boxes no probs with latest fw ,then tried to flash another box it just gave me a black tv screen and ,so i loaded 451 onto box then factorey reset ,then loaded 451 with gtrom 4 ,then 452 with gtrom 403 ,then 453 and logo with gtrom 403,then the latest fw and box works updated no problem

Yes thats what I reckon too. Its just the Logo File that is giving or has given us a headache.

Every Starview 2 The Box that was working with firmware over 4.50 UK does have the Logo Bin File installed, anything under and upto 4.50 does not. (Just to clear any confusion - so check what firmware you have before putting on the fix) Below is a post that I put up earlier this year because people where blocking their box's by using the wrong loader and not putting on the Logo File.

The Box Firmware

As regards the 4.52,53,54, using GTRom 4.00 is no good, that's where
people are going wrong - this is the procedure :- From v4.50/51 you must - Use the New Improved GTrom Loader Ver 4.03 for example >>>>>>>

First flash thebox_H20070814_452eE_api.bin to your box with the new GTRom.4.3
(select as App file only)

Then flash thebox_logobg.bin to your box using the new GTRom.4.3
(select Background Data File)

Version 4.53 For UK

If you are upgrading from 4.51 or earlier you must flash 4.53 first. then flash the logo file. If you already have the 4.52 on just flash the 4.53 straight on no need for the logo file, you must use the 4.3 loader.

Version 4.54 for UK & Ireland

If you are upgrading from 4.51 or earlier then flash 4.54 first then afterwards flash the logo file. If you already have 4.52 on or later then just flash the 4.54 straight on without it. You must use the new Loader Software v4.3

I find the 4.51 in UK much more stable, but it's an individual choice, but that is the procedure above.

So I suggest to avoid any difficulties for the time being why don't people running 4.50 or anything lower, just update as above with any of the firmware 4.52/53 or 54, and the Logo File, and then use the new fix and loader which is 4.03 anyway. But either way you will need the Logo File on The Box.

The secret is to check and find out what you are running, that is why Murz did not have a problem - it already had the Logo File ON The Box
