The problem is only that you don't read the 'sticky' threads I made just for you (http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/113405).
Tha .DAT file is NOT a movie but a 'riff file'! You cannot use it but you need to convert it to mpeg, first!!! (A little more complex for SVCDs, where the 'firr files' have MPG extension, too. But the method is the same).

So do you mean that after i burnt the "vcds", i will then convert the .dat files in the disc to mpeg format using vcdgear which will then replace the .dat file with mpeg file?

Thank you for replying to my question.
However the problem is that before burning the vcd, the format of the file is mpeg but after burning using the method posted in http://cd-rw.org/articles/archive/vcdgearburnatonce.cfm, it became .dat file. After reading the 'sticky threads', http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/113405, i realise that the .dat file is 'riff file' but i could not change or to be specific replace the files that is already burnt into the dics, even though the method using vcdgear can change the .dat file into mpeg format. Still it cant be replaced.
Sorry for giving you so much trouble. Thanks!
