You know, I was able to find this thread without a great deal of trouble when I became interested in the subject. Given that, I would have to say that the guys on that other forum that are "disbelievers" are simply demonstrating either their narrow-mindedness or their complete lack of ability to research their subject. I'm afraid you're just wasting your time.

I too must say that it was not that difficult to stumble onto this link, let alone all the stuff that has been on Doom9 for several months now. All I can say is thanks to the main guys on this forum for their knowledge, time, and willingness to share the fruits of their labour. My hats off to you! The guys on the other forum can continue in their oblivion...

 

Hey guys, for anyone who is interested I put together a small how-to on eac3to_and_more_GUI mainly involving demuxing from a whole BD rip, and converting TrueHD/DTS HD-MA to PCM (for PS3 use). This may benefit you if you want superior quality over demuxing with tsMuxeR... especially with seamless branching titles.

Im sorry but i really dont know where to start. I have read most of these great tutorials and guides, but i cant seem to find one that helps me. I have just brought a dual layer rewriter drive that also reads BD/HD. Now using anydvdHD i have ripped the entire incredible hulk movie which i own on to my pc hard drive. Now i have also looked for the largest file which is 23gig. Is it possible to shrink? I mean i got 1080p rip which was MKV file, i then converted it using MKV2vob and it worked great on my ps3. Thing is it was on 3 gig. so i could transport it from my pc using a dvd disk, then copied it of disk to my ps3 hard drive. But sadly im struggling to find out how to shrink this 23 gig file. Im not bothered about subtitles,menu screens, diff languages. I just want the movie in all its HD glory. Is there a way of doing this.Please help

ROTFL!! Well said. It is amazing how many rock solid points I made got completely ignored. Hell, I even posted a short 1080p clip encoded within the range I was speaking of... And not even a whisper of acknowledgment.

A couple of them at one stage even tried to make it look like I didn't realise that AVC and H264 were the same thing! How could I possibly compensate for their lack of ability to read the well known Human language of English? Well, I kept soldiering on thinking that surely my blatantly obvious points will soon be recieved. I was hoping for the salvation of intelligence to give these poor souls just a glimmer of insight. Just enough for them to say, oh yes I see the light! I knew once I left that thread that the light would also depart with me. Need help i got a mkv(Blu-Ray) 7.95, 1280x540 how do i get this on a DL without encoding it & keeping DTS without reducing the sound to AC3.Thxs

 

Not possible, assuming you want to play it on the PS3, or standalone. First of all, the file size would be too large once converted to Blu-ray. Secondly, in order to have DTS you must have a Blu-ray compliant video size, which you do not.

 

I chose to change the audio from DTS to AC3 but when i burn it to a DL it say unsupported on my PS3.

Heres what i did i use TsMuxers to demux,then i took the audio & changed it from DTS to AC3 using eac3to.Then i merged it back together using TsMuxer into M2ts.I burned it as a data disc & it said Unsupported format on my PS3.This is wierd i never has this problem converting Mkv to M2ts.

 

I want to make a blu ray with either ulead or nero or Build it with TMPGEnc but I'm not sure how much the resolution should be I see allot of mkv floating around with 5000kb/s or 6000kb/s With Great Quality. But the actual Blu Ray is Over 18000kb/s I figure this would be the easiest way around the Green Bar. Do you think it will work even if it takes some time to render?

 

Are you sure you didn't mux to .ts? Double check, put it back in your PC and have a look. If it m2ts you shouldn't get the Unsupported error.

 

There's guide and apps in a single download at the beginning of this thread. This will most likely be the easiest way to achieve what you want.

Has anyone had any luck with the new blu-ray discs where the movie is spread across tons of .m2ts files? I used to just use the following method:
AnyDVD-HD rip > TSmuxer to demux > TMPgenc to encode to WMV9 (HD)

I still want to end up in wmv, but when the main movie is spread across tons of .m2ts files- I'm thrown for a loop. TMPgenc can only handle 1 .m2ts video (& 1 matching audio) file at a time. I could try and join all the files with TSsplitter - but it seems a bunch of them have commentary and stuff thrown over the audio.

Is there any way to tell exactly which files (and in what order) new new blu-ray discs are playing in. Beyond that-- how should I join the files - demux - then recode into wmv9? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

 

This has been covered quite a few times here. You will need to load the correct playlist (mpls) file into tsMuxeR so that the files are appended.

 

Sorry- must have missed it-- is there any easy way to tell which playlist to use? Movie I'm looking at now has 92 mpls files.

 

BDInfo or eac3to (command line).

 

There's a nice (kind of new) little application that is developing quite nicely. It is a GUI for EAC3to that allows us to identify which playlist points to the correct M2TS files. This is quite useful for those that have trouble with multiple M2TS files that need to be appended.

This application can also create a text file with the chapter information and allow you to demux the desired tracks you wish to keep with ease.

PS: You will need to make sure that this application is executed directly from the EAC3to folder. I have also modified the cover page to this thread to add this application. EAC3to and More GUI has also been added and definitions have been modified slightly.
