@saugmon I hope you have better luck with your young tyke. The first time I took my 3 yr old daughter fishing she promptly threw the rod and reel overboard. Still a fond memory and always good for a chuckle.
nice trout SOCOMII. One species that I haven't caught. ireland: That's musky country! That's way on the other side of the state. It probably isn't far from Lake Chataqua? I'd love to hit those lakes. garmoon: Momma would be with us,so she'd keep her busy, LOL. Momma definitely wants to get out there also.
Catch of the Day! 5 saugeye,1 crappie, and a channel catfish. The ranged from 14.5"-18.5". The crappie went 12.5". I spent 2 extra hrs on the lake to try to get my 6th saugeye but no luck.
Catch of the Day: 2-14.5" 1-16" 1-19" Also another nice 13" crappie and 17" channelcat. Not very good, but it should start picking up.
We ended up with 108 saugeye, which wasn't even close to last year's motherlode. Also lost about 25 crankbaits to the stump gods, UGGH! Biggest Saugeye was only 22",but had several that size. Throw in another 35 channelcats,12 crappie, and a half dozen of very fat 11" perch. Even caught a Fish Ohio 26" carp trolling. Coldfront after coldfront so far this summer. Get 2-3 days in the 90's,then back to the 50's. I can't wait for the snow!!!! Here's a pic of one of our Nicer Catch of the Days: 2 of them went 20" and other went 21" Here's a pic of Dad's 45" windsock he snagged while trolling after the 4th of July, still in excellent condition:
SWEET catches saugman. its about 1:00pm here right now. well same for you too..lol just loaded up the truck and the entire family is going to the ohio river for the night got my catfishin rigs ready for some big fish. hopefully yup taken all 3 boys 8yo 5yo 3yo and the wife. went scouting out a spot nice and level shoreline just north of a boat launch and little marina so hopeing for some good luck. rally wanting to just see the boys catch something worth some good size..lol a allnighter.. and taken the camera lol
Nobody's fishing, or just not posting about it? I haven't been since very early spring. I'm wanting to go bad!
@JVC You're right I haven't been since last year and am ready to go now. The damn summer is finally winding down in the deep South. Next 8 mos remind me why I still live here cause last 4 were from Hell. LOL
Nice Haul SOCOMII. A nice fat largemouth and a nice batch of toothy Nornern Pike!!!! What were their sizes? I haven't fished since middle of july. The heat has been intolerable, and it's got to be the hottest september on record. I don't know if I'll get out any more. The GF's 2 boys are playing peewee football. Almost kickoff time for the Buckeyes!!!!
Well, it's about that time again folks! I plan on fishing more this year, than I have in awhile. But, you know how plans turn out...........
Yeah, I wish it was. I live on a lake, and the snow was just about gone, with temperatures in the mid 50's F, but we are near the end of a freak storm. Since 9 last night, we have had 21" of d*mn snow, and it is still snowing heavily. The storm warning ends tomorrow morning at 10. The ice won't go out until early May, now. I live in Minnesota.
u guys are the pros i wanna teach my little cousin to fish (9 year old)...nothing serious just normal lake fishing......what baby rod would you guys suggest? he gets frustrated easily and will bash it around alot LOL what brand? if you have a specific model that'd be great!
anything cheap for starters and watcher your good stuff too, because the little bugger's gonna step on and break one of the rods! LMAO If fishing for bream and sac-a-lait I would suggest a cane pole for starters. For bass a simple zebco or jap equivalent cheapie will do. If you don't do much catching, he might not like fishing anyway.
