I'm famous for not posting often, and in the food thread, posting things that arent as "sexy" as others. Deadrums "keepin it real"!!! Heres what I cooked for the family Thursday night, with enough leftovers for me and the boy to pack sandwiches in our lunchboxes for Friday. I perfected this "no-onion" meatloaf recipe with Sweet Baby Ray's Chipotle BBQ sauce on top And what goes better with meatloaf than mac & cheese? Traditional middle-class cuisine at its finest!!!
I like the sound of this "no onion" meatloaf topped with Sweet Baby Ray's Chipolte. Deadrum, you may have to share thy recipe.
Nice one Deadrum... me thinks about cooking some meatloaf now.... WITH onions tho... they is so good!!! 7th just start throwing stuff in with your meatloaf!! It's always a nice surprise when you cut it open... hehehe. NOT really. One thing to try/add to your meatloaf is a picante sauce. You can use Pace if you like but I'm NOT gonna. lol. It adds a little "flava" and gets some of that "liquid" you need to make a nice little meatloaf. Man I'm rambling... sorry peoples... ....gm
This is probably basic stuff for most of you, so no surprises here and no teasing the chef that still cooks like a bachelor 2lbs ground beef salt, black pepper, and garlic powder to your taste (wouldve used real garlic cloves but we were out) I also added some cayenne pepper that I grew this year but you wont find that in many recipes 4 whole mushrooms, finely diced 1 EGG 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (and a few extra shakes out the bottle for good measure) about 3/4 cup saltine cracker crumbs (most recipes call for dried bread crumbs, again I used something similar I had in house) about 1/2 cup milk to get absorbed by crackers and help "marinade" the beef combine all thoroughly and put in proper meatloaf/ bread pan Spread ketchup/ favorite BBQ sauce over the top (I prefer BBQ it keeps its consistency better in the oven than watery ketchup and tastes better methinks) Bake @350° for an hour- hour 15 minutes Meatloafs internal heat should be around 180° when its done. Drain off extra grease and serve with whatever you like. That ends todays episode of "Cooking with Deadrum", tune in next week when we cover what to make when just coming home from the pubs at 2AM hint... with a little of this on top after its baked
