    deep frying a turkey is the way to go!! very good that way gotta use peanut oil to do it

    When frying a turkey you do have to allow for the size and amount of grease in the pot. A friend of mine was doing one in his garage and had too much oil and it spill over onto the hot crawfish burner jet and caught fire. Not a pretty site, with drunk people trying to put out grease fire.

    ROFL.. @ bunch of Cajuns running around drunk "peeing" on fire... hehehe. :p

    Last year I think it was, I nominated myself to cook the turkey for Thanksgiving.... being the paranoid person my step-mom is she was all over my dad and I about safety and all that crap. lol. We fried the turkey in the middle of there driveway, which has 20-30 feet on either side for plenty of safety. Of course keeping the kids away from the thing is the most difficult thing. Curious little buggers. ;)

    I didn't realize anybody saw us that year. *grins sheepishly*

    I'm still debating whether or not i'm going to deep fry a turkey this year, or just bake a nice, juicy honey maple ham.

    Since we go to my Moms, we have to have regular turkey to go with the homemade cornbread dressing. And she has taught my wife to make the best. I really don't care for turkey unless you shoot it up with all the seasonings but I love dressing.

    GARmoonY PM me your addy as I need to visit your family at Thanksgiving. lol. Your wife makes great pastries and your mom does "to die for" dressing. Some of my favorites for ANY meal.... :D Ok since I've invited myself for the feast, anyone else wanna hitch a ride with the GM??? :D

    What and not have enough to take home with me? Not on your life! LOL :p

    I get to enjoy dressing year round. We make stock with turkey wings and it makes good dressing.

    A big salute to my fellow veterans out there, everywhere, on this Veteran's Day. Especially to those who didn't make it and their families.
