    Congrats omegaman7 for the quitting. I did it 8 years ago(2 1/2 pack a day) and haven't had one since. Watch what you eat and try not to gain the weight because diabetes is right around the corner. Your metabolism changes when you quit. I know first hand. BTW the craving for a cigarette NEVER goes away but it is easier than you think. I used Zyban for 2 months and it helped greatly. My wife still smokes around me but menthol and I despise menthol.

    You're not addicted to computers, you're pathologically addicted to Nero Disc Scans! JMHO

    @7thsinger

    You really have to WANT to quit. And cigarette taxes are going up if this porkulous bill passes, the taxes are going to pay for child welfare health care.

    Thanks buddy. The other night (tuesday) I was having my usual after work cig, and I looked at it for a second. And I was like, YOU KNOW WHAT!!! I through it out the window, and I havnt looked back. I feel VERY strong about it. My need for a cigarette is EXTREMELY SMALL! I tried the patch for a day. I believed that it wasnt really doing anything for me. I was right. You know what people? Its psychosomatic, Period. You have to believe you can quit. You have to REALLY want to quit. The patch makes some people believe that they can quit, for people who think they need help. I told myself, AND believed it, that I could do it cold turkey. My craving is almost nonexistent! Ive been smoking half my life. 15yrs! Pack and a half a day!

    Garmoon, that's my problem. At this point in life, i still enjoy smoking. It's not like i'm unaware of the health complications it could cause. I just still enjoy it.

    You know... Ive said that for several years. Totally not stepping on your toes man. I believe FOR ME, that it was simply an excuse, to allow myself to continue smoking, and not have to deal with the anxiety of quitting. Just my 2cents :D
    Sorry about off topic guys :D I'll shut up now :)

    Well done on quitting!

    I am off cigarettes sixteen years next week! I was on two packs a day before that, i changed to a lighter brand and gradually cut down to ten a day over 5 or six months and then quit completely cold turkey february 1993.

    The craving eventually goes away, i never want a cigarette any more, but it takes a good ten years! lol! Stick with it! :)

    Alot of people make the excuse, that they LIKE smoking. I laugh about that now. Anybody in their RIGHT mind will realize how foolish that statement sounds. My craving is extremely slite, Because I feel so strongly about it. Ive never been happier in my life, for quitting smoking. Infact, it feels like a huge weight has been lifted, RELEASE! My mom had me hold her cigarette last night, why she ran inside a building. I wasnt tempted in the slitest way. I COULD BARELY BELIEVE IT! Its a shame that the government cant just save us all, and ban them completely. ILLEGAL!!! People would adapt in time. Many people would probably thank the action. Some people need help, others simply need a reason. I suppose some people wouldnt be able to contain themselves though. Ive seen people fiend for things.

    @omegaman7

    You don't get it yet! You may be able to live without smoking, it's the Government that can't live without the TAX revenue smoking produces. So the G can't afford to ban cigarettes until everyone quits. It's a wonder they haven't legalized pot so they could tax it like booze. In keeping with the topic, I wonder how much a packet of pot laced brownies or choc chip cookies would sell for. BTW the G is collecting taxes in Calif from the medical weed stores. CNBC had a great show on pot growing in now bankrupt California. I think it was the number 1 cash crop! LMAO

    Just a note to add to the smoking issue. I quit 35 years ago when I was age 35 at the time. I wouldn't be here today, writing this, if I hadn't quit "SMOKING". When the doctor said, "George, if you don't quit smoking, your going to die." That got my attention and I quit never to smoke again.
    Later

    Wow, our society sure is alot less than perfect isnt it. Perhaps one day, we'll change. Sorry about off topic guys. Im just so proud, thats all. I think the fruit dishes ive been eating for breakfast this week have helped alot though. Blueberries are AWESOME!!! Yah...I imagine pot sales would outsell liquor 2 to 1 atleast ;)

    Nope it's a London Broil... :p

    Trippy you might try some different spices but be careful how much you use. Normally a little goes a long way!

    For Mexican dishes adding Cumin, Chili powder, or even some Paprika is pretty good. OF course Garlic (granulated) is always good to add. IF you use salt try some Sea Salt, better flavor and doesn't take much. :)

    Any other suggestions? ;)

    That looks delicious. Unfortunately the cross section view could also be a cross section of a coronary artery on bacon explosion in need of a stint or coffin! LMAO

    Meh smoking is not that bad, look at all the carsengines we happyliy eat in our processed food and all the caners that come from all that crappy food.

    50 years ago food was a bit more healthy and people got out a bit more now people lay around more and the bodies energy has to go somewhere if one starts up it could easily grow out of control due to unhealthy living.

    There is so much bad for you one can not easily write of cigarettes, and the public smoking bans are ludicrous why not ban cars in public they poullte as much! LOL

    Never been one much for steak I do like roast and pulled meats, got a pork roast to finish off as BBQ samwiches in the fridge right now :X

    Anyone watch Good eats on Food network? Its one of my fav shows tho he is wrong about knife sharpening.... :p
