    LOL, I decided to treat myself to "Jack in the box". I know, not nearly as healthy as the fruit dish, but I think I deserved it! :D
    To those who dont know what it is. Its similar to Carls Jr. I wish an Arby's was around here. I LOVE ARBY'S

    @O-man7.... I miss Jack-in-Box!!! I love that Ultimate Cheeseburger any time of day! I'd get in the morning for breakfast when they had one in town. We had Carl's Jr. at one time too!!! But it's gone now too!!!! :( :( Now I'm really sad.... me favorites are dust in the wind. We have Arby's and you can keep them... like luvvy said.. to much SALT!!! :p

    Ok... now the GM is starving.... :p

    add: Mongo HUNGRY... came by to see the GM and he have NO food ready.. iluvendo feed Mongo??? Mongo like Chinese!!

    I apologize for touching an obviously sad subject. To have neither of those restaurants to choose from is SAD indeed!

    O-man7 your genuine thoughtfulness is appreciated. It's not like the GM has real problems finding something to eat but those eateries are not available unless I want to drive a certain mileage for their delicacies. :) So I'll just have to settle for Sonic, McD's, Whataburger, Burger King, and all the little burger shops here in town. :) There's plenty, trust me. :)

    add: we need some pix of food again... that way I can really be hungry and here Mongo complaining. ROFL. :p

    Those are last years crawfish or Asian, my sha. And we don't buy Asian crawfish here. I've been waiting for fresh tail meat this year, but alas it's not grown yet. And for you perverts...that would be crawfish tail meat! LOL

    BTW The first picture is mislabled. That would be crawfish stew which is made with a dark roux. Crawfish etoufee is made with butter, and thickened with white flour and tastes nuttier; and has a golden yellow color. It's made in haste and easier. Basically same ingredients but totally different tastes.

    Mardi Gras! This weekend till Tuesday.

    GARmoonY if I had the time I'd be on me way to your house... I love Cajun food and I know you likes it too.. :) Thanks for the "headsup" on the "crawfish stew", I think the second pic is supposed to crawfish etouffee!!!! BUT as I've only made Jambalaya I have NO idea what you're talking about... :D

    @gm

    you would be right, the second pic looks like etoufee and the top is stew! I make them both and will post a pic the first time I make each one real soon. The difference is simple. With stew you make a roux with oil and flour and cook it slowly until the flour is almost to the burned stage, but NOT. Try to get it the color of a brown paper bag but darker. Then add the holy trinity onions, bellpeppers and celery to the roux and cook the mix until the vegs are done. With etoufeee melt butter and add same vegies and saute them till celery is just getting tender and then its pretty much adding a little chicken broth or water and tail meat and cooking the tails just til done. You thicken the etoufee with flour as you cook it. Comprende? I prefer etoufee-wife prefers stew! Always served over Louisiana RICE NOT pasta-a sacrilege!

    Edit: If you're going to cook Cajun, you got to usually start with a ROUX in a cast iron pot!

    @the g man

    Got up looking for crawfish tail meat and found it. Only $15 /lb! Wife thought we needed 2 and since she was going to make stew while I mowed the grass, I thought that was a good idea. Eat your hearts out America! It's still warm. LOL I'll be fatter and fuller tonight.
