The Little Black Book is almost unrippable. I say almost because their is a way. DVD Shrink can't even open the disc to see the size. Reauthoring doesn't work either. DVD Decrypter suspects something odd about the dvd and stalls seconds later.

    Try this first -

AFA the Bourne Supremacy, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and one or two others - In "Unreferenced materials" select title 1 menus, there is a "Boy" running (in green shorts too). By checking him out in the "Preview" screen, you can see his outfit too. Sometimes DVD Shrink gets past it sometimes not -

If you don't make it past it then go to that Unreferenced materials select Title 1 menus – Then go to "Compression" select "Custom Ratio" then select "Still image" then try DVD Shrink again, it should slide right on through, like a hot knife through tender Turkey –

If that doesn't work get VOBBlanker, use that first then use DVD Shrink -

    Happy New Year,

    Pete

    [bold]I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE[/bold]

i used vobblanker twice and DVD Shrink still does not want to recognize it all the way. I even used the new PSL for DVD Decrypter but it does nothing. I've been doing this for hours and i'm tempted to break the dvd. but then i calm myself and say that i need a backup first. but i can't get a freakin' backup!!!

i'm going to thrust my frustrations on mortal kombat. i'll be back.

I backed this one up a few months ago with DVD Shrink and NERO, I just tried the backup and it works, I don't recall having any problems with it. Sorry can't help much except to say that I have done it and it worked.

Load DVD Decrypter with the Little Black Book disc in the drive.

Click File -> Protected Sectors List -> Import...

    Select PSL file.

I created, saved and then loaded the PSL file into DVD Decrypter, but DVD Shrink doesn't recognize the files now. Any ideas?

Shrink doesn't do anything with this disk by itself either, so I'm stuck.

dvdripdvd did you ever get it to rip with blanker and shrink combined? I haven't tried yet but found with Resident Evil that it doesn't always work on the first try or second. And you were right Troy zips right along. Go figure.

    Hey all...

Very simple solution, on any dvd click on copy protection based on unreadable sectors. Not as impresive, but works with everything. This is the method of copy protection being used. Keep them from taking our money twice. Soon blue lasers will make the current dvds obsolete so why steel our money due to media made to be defective.

    spread the word my brothers!!!!!!!!

    Draygin,

    You are so right -

The guys working on AnyDVD are pretty much on top of things and as far as proggys are concerned, they keep their proggy even with the newly released encryption stuff.

More and more, you're getting a better value with AnyDVD to rip almost all programs -

TO RIP THE NEWEST ENCRYPTED DVD'S BUY ANYDVD.

OR Iffin Ya like to do it your self,

USE DVD DECRYPTER AND PLUG IN THE PROPER PSL.

    It's your choice,

Do it automatically for $$$ OR for FREE, do some steps yourself

    Cheers all :p)

Now Slysoft has a new Beta version of AnyDVD which is supposed to be even better at decrypting the unreadable sector encryption. I leave AnyDVD running in the background all the time. With DVD Decrypter and AnyDVD, I've yet to get a disc that won't rip easily. Pete had it right. I'll do both, spend my money wisely and use the free stuff as well.
