Is this the AMD build thread or the LCD repair and what's the best LCD monitor thread... just checking. ...gm
It's the AMD build thread to decide what is the best LCD monitor or how to get one repaired for an AMD system.
I hereby recommend that everyone forgoes a CRT monitor and uses LCD's only. Discussions regarding quality, panels, price, and repair will follow.:>)
This was a technical issue that's important to Intel users as well! We don't discriminate between AMD & Intel, when it comes to good and not so good LCD Monitors. Knowledge is Power! Russ
Russ says, "blah, blah, blah-bity blah blah." Dang it Russ I'm trying to make a funny and you may have missed it!! I got the info and took it all in. TN panels NOT so good; S-IPS, S-PVA, and S-SPVA are better.. that's right innit? ....gm
I know, that's why I made a funny back! LOL!! See the little smiley? Oh you forgot P-MVA, Pretty good too! ROFLMSOAO!!
OH NO!!! They didn't.. hehee. Yours were more "noticeable". Ok, sorry for the OT.... you guys continue on the AMD stuff as well as just general knowledge. ...gm
And on top of all this, the viewing angle of the S-IPS in the 3008WFP is lower than that of most S-PVAs, maybe even on par with some TNs, just without the colour distortion - look at it from any horizontal angle up to 178º and it's fine, but from any vertical change, it all goes bright white!
How do U go about looking at a screen at this angle..look at it from any horizontal angle up to 178º At what angle am I looking at if I'm right beside it
Hey Rick, He's talking about being off to one side and then standing up. If you are close to it, it all washes out to white on a TN Monitor screen. I normally don't get up, or I watch it from bed so it's no problem for me. The further away you are from the screen, the less you get that effect. Must be a gamer thing! LOL!! Bobbing and Weaving around, ducking bullets, Rockets and so on! Russ
Well I put my eyeballs right beside my SOYO, and I can still distinguish a picture (no White). So what does that mean
Don't know for sure, just my best guess. Mine doesn't do that, the color gets a little less contrast, but you have to be almost 90 degrees from center either way to really notice anything at all on mine. Best, Russ
Just in the process of putting together a build after my sempron died. Got a ASUS MB M2V-MX SE, AMD Athlon X2 5200 2.7GHz, 2 Mb P5300 DDR2 667 Ram and a new power supply. Having issues getting the on board sound drivers in, comes with RealTek HD audio ver 2.28 R 1.60. I must be doing something wrong as I can't seem to get the drivers to load. I also have to edit the boot.ini file to rid my start up with the windows default boot. Any help would be nice. Thanks in advance.
Haha I can imagine that, but it's actually for when the monitor is being used as a TV of sorts, and you're not looking directly at the screen.
catthepat, Usually there are two different audio drivers to load, and you have to use them both. One is the the HD audio and the other is for the audio chip! Also, is the sound turned on in the setup. Silly question I know, but it happens. Welcome to The New AMD Building Thread, Russ
A bit of encouraging news on Phenom II! http://techreport.com/discussions.x/15927 Well over 5GHz on LN! Sound very good for AMD's future! More! http://forums.overclockers.com.au/showpost.php?p=9683483&postcount=1 http://www.legitreviews.com/article/836/1/ Russ
I remember reading about this. Certainly an interesting result, but let's see how far it gets on air or basic water... If they can break the 4Ghz barrier on both of those, AMD are in with a very strong chance.
For the more technically minded amongst us. Interesting stuff! http://www.eetimes.eu/semi/showArti...0CJUNN2JVN?articleID=212002481&printable=true Enjoy, Russ
