    Sophocles,
I tried that, but even 1680x1050 isn't enough to cover it all. It seemed to start with hybride's post! He's probably using Notepad and has word wrap turned off!

your sig is clearing my 2560x1600 screen for a start Russ - it's anything that isn't linespaced.

I just posted a means to end the scrolling issue. I think it's being caused by the left hand column. Other than a need to scroll I'm not having any other issues.

    Try this
Near the top left column of the forum there is a "Browse by topic" menu. Close by clicking the "X" it and since the page is not fixed (fluid)it will expand.

The side margin didn't fix it for me - but it's now solved itself.

I haven't had any issues with any of the pages other than the left column forcing things to the right, but once that was closed there was nothing else to report.

    Sam,
I'm pretty sure it's hybride's post, because that's when it started. I sent him a PM and asked him to edit it and turn on word wrap. He must have a large screen resolution!

Sorted, even my lowly 1440x900 screen was stretching, it was the 'code' quotes in one of Soph's posts up the previous page. Changed it to 'quote' quotes for him :)

Well my apologies to hybride then, as it looked for all the world that it was his text that caused it. BTW, even my 1680x1050 was blown out by it!

    Thanks Creaky,
    Russ

How bout that, creak you got 1440x900, so do I, I'm like the only one I know around here uses it, everybody else is either smaller or mostly bigger, I thought it was pretty much the standard or maybe many don't use 19" widescreens anymore e.g. if I find a certain wallpaper I like not many will give you that resolution much, it's always another number.

I think 1280x1024 and 1680x1050 are more popular, 1440x900 widescreens are a little restrictive for vertical pixel count, but they're bigger than the standard laptop monitor size. 1680x1050 monitors are dirt cheap nowadays anyway.

Yeah i bought 3 Samsung SM940MW's quite a while back specifically for the max resolution of 1440x900. As i like to use more than once PC/more than one screen and space constraints i plumped for the Samsungs.
I do have my 32" Samsung TV but used just as a TV. If i only had the one PC or had more room i'd have gone for something bigger, but as i'm not into PC gaming i find the resolution more than enough.

I do have a laptop that can do 1600x1200 though for my eyes i prefer to use that one at 1280x1024. At work i used 2 monitors all day at 1280x1024 which was fine on the eyes though of course higher resolutions would have been even better (however all work type machines use onboard graphics so 1280x1024 was always going to be the realistic maximum).

meh, if I had only the space for a 19" I think I would try and get a 1680x1050 one :S
