    Hi topdj,
I,ve finally cracked it. I fully agreewith what you said but none of the record buttons worked for record. I reinstalled different versions of the firmware and finally it started after i set it to record using the timer and now all the functions work. However i used the epg function to record a film and it missed the begining.Any hints on what might be done here. The time is always off by one hour on these boxes

I believe that if you go into the menue on the remote you can set the time.
    Menue/ config/time settings
adjust the gmt to +1 I think!

Has anybody else come across this....

In my old Eurovox Max V, when I lost a channel such as the Sci fi channel, I would go in and update the channels via menu... this would do a full scan and then would update any changed frequencies... leaving my channel guide in tact...Adding any new channels found to the bottom of the list.

Now with My PVR (1.1a) When I carry out the same function to update the channels, it does the scan, but reaarnages my channel guide alphabetically...

Now,I have to put my old Eurovox on and do a scan with that - upload the channel guide and then download the new channel guide to my PVR!!! Which is a pain!!!!

    Any way of stopping this?

SO am I the only one with this probllem.... or do you reckon it is something I am doing wrong???

I already posted the same question as Steveo:
(see Page 11 of this thread: "My EV 5000 works well, BUT: every few days some channel or other doesn't work, and it appears black with message "Scrambled Channel"; I can fix it by doing a manual scan for the channel frequency of that channel, but then the box updates the "new" channels it has found, and updates the CDF/Favorites, thereby upsetting some of my channel listings, and also adds some channels into favorites which I didn't want (e.g:Adult channels: I have kids!!). Why does it "lose" some channels, and anyway I can prevent this?
    Thanks" )
in reply to scOuser: the Fav groups also get rearranged slightly (the "new" channels found on manual scan are added to some of the Fav groups, esp the 'Adult' ones, which I had previously removed from Favs.)
Any other ideas how to sort this, or is it just the design of the PVR that we have to live with?

Living in Dublin and have N*L.

Scanned in from 290 to 403 using second symbol rate 6887.

Got around 131 channels but dont seem to have LFC TV, Celtic TV and Arsenal TV.

I have "The Box" and have them on that but not on the EVX 5000pvr.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers

You need to finish scan at 420.000 Mhz thats why they are missing.

No I dont use Favs, I have a pefectly set up channel guide whhich is just the way i want it - works perfect for the Eurovox max V with a simple update...

Why does the PVR update differently and rearrange channels?

Any way to undo the rearrrange and just update the channels???

You can copy the channel list from the eurovox max and then upload it to the PVR...Or you can use DnUpMan to edit your channel list on your PC then Upload it with the Firmware software.
