    120GB HD is recommended purely as you say for heat dissipation. They go for around the £100 mark and you can pick a HDD up on fleabay for around £35. Again you find a supplier in Ireland the add ons will cost you much more.

    I don't understand why there would be any real heat difference between HDD's of different capacities.

    From my experience with laptops, its the HDD's spindle speed that generates the heat.

    e.g. right now the 250GB, 5400rpm WD HDD in my VAIO in running @38*C, yet the 120GB, 7200rpm Hitachi HDD in my HP [sitting beside it] is running @47*C

    I think it may be some sort of BIOS limit on the motherbaord. ?

    I always used 5400rpm HDD's my XP Media Centre PC's to keep the heat/noise down, and they played/recorded fine.

    I did say it was only recommended most tests were carried out with a 250GB HD. There are many ways to reduce heat. 250GB provides plenty of capacity either way. And due to the fact that it is front loading just makes it easier to take out and transfer files either way. So capacity wouldn't really bother me that much.

    Has the remote code changed to get into the menu where you turn the emu option on? I can't get in. (Scrambled channel notification on screen).

    EMU is on by default, have you flashed it?

    Ah, no I haven't. There is Kuro software on it already, though, so I thought I wouldn't need to.

    EDIT: Cheers, sc0user, that did the trick. Only noticed that the dates were different between the latest release and the software already on it after you mentioned flashing. Thanks again.

    @sc0user,
    The Telepest salesman told me "The 160GB HDD in the TVDrive would be more than enough for anybody"
    But it couldn't cope with the better halfs two additions...
    1. 'Soaps'
    2. 'Record Series' button.

    Hence back to the Media Centre. :eek:]
