    59dB is like having a car engine in your room, and not even at idle either.
    For absolute silence from more than a foot away, you need about 17-18dB. Bear in mind decibels are a logarithmic scale. 21dB is twice as loud as 18dB.
    As for this one, I'm in complete accord with Russ on the FM121, the Deltas are useless beside it.

    it is. Seriously. The FM121s are unpleasant to work in and are louder than any stock PC I've ever seen, when they're at full speed. A Delta can completely drown even a pair of 121s.

    holy mother, it's bloody loud! but the air flow is bloody good tho.
    @abuzar1 i can't believe you are able to handle that kind of noise.
    btw in the vid, is the fan on full speed? I wonder how loud it would be on low

    The top delta fans sound like a full speed Antec Tricool at about 6.5V, a normal fan at about 4V, and can never run at the same noise level as a low speed fan because the bearings are too noisy.

    Perhaps but a P182 isn't really designed for great cooling to start with, there are better cases to use with such a stupid fan. I've heard a server with two of those bad boys in it for real. It's crazy, it sounds like a server room, not just one server.

    yeah thats crazy, if P182 can cover the noise then have one or 2 of that fan can make a great cooling

    im sure the cosmos would dampen the sound, but the delt would probably eat the cosmos for dinner

    Guys thanks for the headsup on the SilenX green fans. That would have pissed me off to order them and then find out they're louder than the Thunderblade. lol.

    I'm about to head to see if any of those Aerocool's are left. ;) /me hopes so.... thanks for the info on those too. ;)

    @ abuzar1

    Trust me... I had top of the line deltas ... my temps were 10- of what they are now.[and they did good at a heavey load] .. BUT it was like launching a scud Missile every time I booted up,,,very,very,every,very,very...very loud

    I think the 32MB cache is better, you'll need that much cache if you're trafering large files

    @herrick
    is it only loud when boot up? What about the overall noise level?
