    Hey there LP,
He does get some sweet deals. Cash money helps those kind of deals considerably! I once flew to London with a large chunk of $100s to buy a race car. They wanted $165k, we haggled a bit and I popped $125K cash on the desk! Got the car at my price! LOL!! They were completely "Gassed"! ROFLMAO!!

Today if you did that you'd get arrested ! LOL!! Before you even got out of your own country! Cash works though. It's the old "A Bird in the Hand" thing!

Not much into Wrestling! You have to remember that I grew up as a kid when wrestling was more honest. They didn't talk $hit in those days! They didn't do some of the stupid crap I see these days. Georgeous George, The original Haystacks Calhoon, Original Andre the Giant and Sailor Art Thomas. It was a different age, and for me a better time. Wrestling and Boxing! I saw some great Wrestling and some great fights growing up. I saw Joe Lewis last 4 fights! All on TV and all free! I was 3 the first time I saw Joe Lewis fight! Yup! I'm Old! LOL!!

    Best Regards and welcome back,
    Russ

Well, at the time I paid £777 for my 3007WFP, brand new full retail package (even though all that includes beyond the monitor and power cable is a sheet of basic instructions and a driver CD I've never used - why would you want drivers for a DVI monitor?)

That works out about $1500. Not too impressive, but now consider when I bought it the cheapest you could get them for was 1500 POUNDS. I like to think I did well out of that one!

50% off for that monitor is a pretty good deal.

Well it was back in December 06 when I bought it. Now, they cost about as much as I paid for it - not bad to have a good 18 month lead on a product's price though, I daresay. It's essentially like paying what 8800GTXes now cost at the time they were released, but bigger. Hmm, that's quite a nice thought actually - kind of makes up for all the times I've been screwed out of expensive upgrades, but then if the monitor really was £1500 I'd never have bought one in the first place.

Good luck man, you deserve a break.

Anyway, so I bought that laptop. I might post some pics. I got it for 380. Intel Dual Core, 2GB Ram, 160GB HDD, DVD Burner, and good looks. lol

I'm thinking of painting the top black.

BTW guys, the Asus Striker Extreme is NOT a good motherboard to get, right?

EDIT: Oh I am keeping this Laptop. Atleast for the summer. I might sell it after that.

Also, Abuzar1? Dude, you know you can just put down abuzar. lol

It's my understanding that the ASUS Striker Extreme II is the board to avoid atm.... I have the Original Striker Extreme (680i) and all seems just fine to me... Q6600 installed but I need to test the 8800GTS on it to see how it works... I've used the ATi X1650XT on it already and no problems that I could tell. Of course I haven't messed with an OC yet... NO time lately for anything but posting....

The Striker 2 is the bad one, but I've seen the original striker, and it's not very good either. Avoid both and stick to the Intel chipset boards. Yes, the original board is fine at stock, but why would you pay that much for a board and leave it stock? A hint of overclocking and it fell over and died - with an E6850 for god's sake.

    @Russ

hey got a question for ya. we now have the same mobo V2.0
did you say yours came with the F9 bios? and you upgraded to F11?

i havent messed with the bios update with the new board. but i did just check it and i havethe F11 allready in it. i have afeeling gigabyte went ahead and put the F11 bios on it when they tested teh E8400 on the board before they sent it back to me. pretty cool if they did.

i got it running at 3.4ghz mem underclocked a bit 756mhz(378 a side)
running great as of now. ive ran orthos on it for a hour prime 95.havent run OCCT yet. did just do the burnin test on it. all passed.

gonna leave it here for a few weeks than to 3.6ghz to leave it alone for good.

i havent done anything to the mem volts other than the very first thing giveing it the +0.3 putting it at 2.1v(rated @2.2v) and i did take the CPU volts up to 1.150 up from the 1.131 it was at. not surre if i even needed to do that. but it is a small increase so all should be good.
    slow and steady.....lol

It's because someone was selling a brand new one for 150, and I was wondering if it's a good deal.
