Sorry I'm so late in replying to your questions, I was out of town and only had access to dial up (couldn't tollerate that). Lots of posts while I was away and been trying to get caught up. I wanted a modular psu and I really like the gold plated aeronautical connectors not to mention both fans are blue led and the rear fan stays on for about 5 min after you shut down the pc. Nice case choice btw. Copycat! I'm only kidding of course Depending on what cpu hsf you go with you may need to remove or modify the duct on the side. An 80mm fan will bolt in place of the duct if you so choose to do so. I really like my cooler master mystique.

@pszczoll,

You might have already ordered all of your components but I didn't know if you were aware that the memory you linked to was cas 5. You might want to reconsider using cas 4.

Edit: nevermind, you changed it since an earlier post I had read. That memory should perform well for you. Corsair was having some problems with defective sticks with their memory kits but it seems to be ironed out now. Mine has performed perfectly. The failures could have been due to the users not knowing and not setting the correct voltage for the memory. I always look up the memory voltage specs for whatever brand I'm using and set it accordingly directly after initial boot up. I think mine was 1.9 volts by default.

I noticed that you didn't mention a HDD. I honestly can't remember if you already have one and didn't want to go back thru 4-6 pages of posts. Here's some to look at if you need a HDD.

Ah so you need vga connector. Most dvi cards come with a dvi to avg adaptor. This card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814143087 did have a $20 mir last week. It is 420mhz core clock as opposed to std 400mhz. Time to upgrade to a digital monitor

A buddy of mine got that exact same case you're getting. I persuaded him to go with the black since I already had the brushed aluminum. Only thing I don't like about it is the power and hdd leds on top are blue instead of orange like the led on the front shutters. No biggie. All my leds are blue.

He also got that exact psu and I don't think the fans have leds like the blue one does. Regardless, I haven't had any problems with my hiper psu.

Edit: That card I linked to may be a new model (no reviews) but they did have a bfg 7600GS 420mhz core clock on special. I think greensman got one.

so thats a better video card then the one i had picked.also yes i do believe that its time to go to a digital monitor but this is for a family member that wants to see use there old monitor.

 

just a tad faster is all. it's not on sale though and you won't notice enough difference to justify the extra cost.

 

ok well let me ask you this would you pay the extra money for alittle bit faster card? also what kind of cord is need to hook up a mintor that has dvi to a dvi video card?

the card i was thinking of (the one greensman got and the one that was on sale) was a bfg 7600GT i'm pretty sure instead of the 7600GS.

that looks like the one. faster core clock and memory clock. look at the pics. it has vga adaptors for both connectors.

With your raid question.
Firstly your motherboard must support raid, I presume you already know it does.
Secondly it then depends on whether you are doing a clean install with the two drives as the primary drive, then you will need to have some way of loading the drivers at install.
If you are adding them as additional storage, then you just add the drivers to the operating system as you would any other drivers.

You also have the option to add these drivers with the drives as additional storage, and then by using Acronis True image, make these drives the primary storgae and copy the os to them (along with the drivers) you then can set them up as primary drives without a floppy.

 

realy? you learn somthing new everyday, thats what keeps me coming back to these threads.

you might just of saved me some cash and the trouble of messing up the inside of my case.
