#4 You have reached the max limit (10) of TCP connections per second. This was instituted in SP2, SP1 had unlimited.

There is a patch which allows you to change the max to a larger number, but buyer beware, http://www.lvllord.de/?lang=en&url=downloads

Hmm, I've already used that patch, did it a few months back...
    Thanks for the advice though.

shaffaaf..Are U saying this is a good or bad brd...Also what the numbers on it. I like all the card slots and the way they are layed out. Can only see 2 SATA Slots though, not really enough. Personally I like 8 SATAs. What might be a similar board, my Grandson want to build a computer with the Intel 2.4 Quad

The GA-EP35-DS3R has 8 S-ATAs and is an excellent board.

    shaffaaf,
Do you have a link to information about the 790 Gigabyte MB you posted a pic of? I would like to take a look at it. I can't seem to find it on Gigabyte's website!

    Thanks,
    Russ

    shaffaaf,
That was very interesting reading, and more than a little confusing. I was hunting all over that pic for the 5 Sata ports Sam mentioned, but I think given the way the article was written, the one you posted only had 2 Sata ports. The picture directly below it of the GeForce 9400 MB has the 5. These are only prototypes, so I expect when the final product arrives, it will have more.

    Thanks again,
    Russ

i dont have the artical here with me but in the new maximumpc mag it has a comparison of 4 790i type mobo. the asus striker 2 extreme.evga eforce 790i ultra, intel dx48bt2 and the gigabyte x48t-dq6. it has the evga and asus as the best 2(and most costly) and the intel last with the gigabyte in the middle but the gigabyte board i dont think is 790I it has the X48 chipset in it. but the layout of it looks like the one shaffaaf posted

    entire post edited...lol

    cincyrob,
It just goes to show just how much BS there is out there. The Striker Extreme is a great MB. The Striker Extreme II is currently a Horror Show! Nothing that a future bios flash won't cure I'm sure, but for that kind of money???? It's a bit insane to pay now and get later! You've heard of the "Worst of the Worst? Well this is it, for now!

    Best Regards,
    Russ

I wouldn't call the original Striker 'great' either. I'd say something like the Maximus is, but not the Strike, neither of them.

    sammorris,
The Striker Extreme seems to be a real good MB! Some one here has one and loves it! That's what my buddy replaced his Striker Extreme II with and he just raves about it! He said "It was pretty much everything he expected from the Extreme II and didn't get"!

    Best Regards,
    Russ

Well, one of the people I know at my LAN had a Striker Extreme - we tried overclocking his CPU and got nowhere, having to hard reset the CMOS after a paltry 400mhz overclock on an E6850. Something happened to it, I'm not sure what, and he replaced it, purely coincidentally, with a P35C-DS3R, his decision not mine!
