I was actually commenting in agreement with you, 1300rpm is slow by most standards.
The Blue Lexa Blackline presumably costs more because it's only just been released in the US, to my knowledge it's the same case.

Rick: Yes, PCI is ridiculously inferior to PCI express. The average PCie card is over ten times as fast as a PCI one that costs the same amount.

For reference, the 8800GS is miles better than the 8600GT as Abuzar pointed out, but don't buy an EVGA one, stick with XFX:

Sam it seems to have a REALLY high rating on newegg and they don't seem to be having problems. I think he is safe with the EVGA version.

EDIT: All the bad reviews are people like this for example.

Pros: Ok first of all this is not a bad card. If this is your first card it is great. key word first.

Cons: I really don't like this card. I had an EVGA 7600GT with 256 MB RAM. I thought that this card would be a great improvement over it but it was not. i could not play rome total war with full graphics, or TF2. And i'm only running at 1440X900. Also when ever i used Fraps the frame rate would drop to 6 FPS!

Other Thoughts: Overall i am very disappointed in the card and i can't wait to go back to my 7600GT.

of all the reviews of the XFX on newegg, bar the noise of the fan, only 2 of the 42 reviews suggest a faulty product, and in any case, when were newegg reviewers trustworthy?
I advise people against EVGA not for DOA or low quality products from the outset, but for long term reliability.

 

Well, what ever he wants to go with. He caneither take his chances with the EVGA card(which I think should be fine, but you never know) or pay 20 more and get the XFX.

Still MUCH better off than getting a 8600GT

IMO PC-6400, but once again, depends, if you have the money to blow, then why not.

I have a question about that. This might sound like a stupid question but... You ALWAYS need thermal paste, right? I ordered my parts yesterday, but I forgot to get thermal paste because I wasn't sure if I should...

 

a 1:1 ratio with a 1066 fsb cpu would set the memory at 667mhz. fsb x 2 = memory. since your running a 1:2 ratio the number in the dram frequency box will be 2x the fsb. then you multiply that by 2 and you get the ram speed of 1066.
