    truth be known, I even go as far as to use a single edge razor blade after the credit card (carefully). the razor blade being hardened steel will actually cut some minor imperfections off of the surface of the cpu and make it a little flatter ;)

    the alcohol won't hurt anything and evaporate quickly.

    I used the alcohol prep pads. Took it all off, just looks a little blotchy and weird.

    Yes LP....and so are off topic comments :p

    Seriously though, the GPU talk was dominating the thread and if it's that hot of a topic it should have it's own place in the forum.

    Found it...
    Isn't that all caps in cincy's post...Loco...I'm just pointing it out..:)

    @shaffaaf
    I see the point you are making...but I would save the $30 on the case...over the memory...the memory is the work horse of your rig...
    It is in my opinion...the single most important component of your computer...when the difference in PC-8500 kits was around a $100 it was worth it...while the difference is so little...it just doesn't make sense...Take advantage of the cheap prices...they will not last..:)

    @mrk44
    Its fine...

    @cincy
    Of course its worth it...
    better deal...on memory...

    better deal on a P/S...

    lol WOW, this is getting entertaining.

    Hey MK44, that does NOT look quite right. I think you need to clean it some more. Try my method or something.

    abuzar Yeah, I thought so too, so I just took my finger (after washing it) and VERY gently rubbed it on top. It just turned out to be residue and its all gone now :)
    I'll try your way too just to be safe.

    I realize that virtually no one has posted anything about an AMD build in a long while. I have a Socket AM2, 3600 Sempron I want to use, and I'm looking for suggestions for a MB. I've never bought an AM2 MB before so I'm a bit in the dark. Preferably with On-Board 6150 Graphics as I'm not overclocking and I just don't want to waste the CPU. I was going to sell the chip, but no one is interested so I'll make a cheap computer and sell it that way. I may even swap it with the Foxconn MB in the eMachine and put the Sempron back into it in another case.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Russ
