@REAM you're right about that one...when DDR3 are normal price that won't happen in a long time...so i should buy the L series to save money...

I was thinking about this...i need to make money...so...

should i sell my OC 8600GTS 256MB and replace it with my 7600GS 256MB and play games on off/low - mid settings or keep the 8600GTS for and sell the 7600GS for less money...and play games on mid -high settings?

By the way...i've tried to sell my 7600GS 256MB for about 2 months and no ones interested...so i think the 8600GTS will have better chance...

The 7600GS won't attract interest because it's rubbish. If you can afford to do so, sell that and keep the 8600 for a bit. If you're upgrading soon or can stomach appalling frame rates for a while sell the 8600 and stick with the 7600GS temporarily.

i won't be buying a new computer until sometimes next year so...i was thinking of selling the 8600GTS and make a decent amount of money...since i bought this card overseas and campare to the price over here in SA it is much cheaper...you know what i mean...and like you said 7600GS is rubbish...i always regret when i buy computer parts...not enough research...

LOL!...even if someone wants to buy my card...i don't ship overseas...since it's too expensive...and well...i think i'll try selling that card to a friend if not i'll HAVE to find a way to sell it...

Hmm, whilst international shipping is viable enough, the buyer will have to pay a lot for you to not lose out, and on such a cheap card it won't really be viable. Maybe you can keep it and make a backup or storage PC using it.

The implication of that was that your current PC is becoming the backup, not the leftovers you have hanging around.

actually...my Athlon64 XP don't have SATA port...so i'm not gong to use that one...my Sempron mobo has SATA port But i think it has a problem...can't connect up to the internet...maybe i should use a network card...but then again...it doesn't have PCI-E slot...then i'll have to use my old FX 5200 128MB...then i can't play games or lan...only watch anime and movie and surf net...that would be boring

How much do you thin i can sell my computer for?...i'll say R4500 = $668...but i'll say about $300...

    1 USD = 6.73050 ZAR

No such thing as an Athlon64 XP, it's either an XP, or it's a 64. Anyway, the point I was making was that you don't need these old PCs any more if you're going to completely upgrade your existing one. Just use the one you've got right now as the backup, and forget about the old AGP setups.

well yeah...but i can only upgrade when i have money...so you're right...this computer is my back up...but i'l have to sell it...so i'll have to jump back to my old one...and yes it's XP not Athlon 64 XP...

    oh read the last post...

Ah well, you didn't mention you were selling this PC to be able to afford the next one.

Well, if the second PC is just strictly for work, then either of the old PCs will suffice, surely?

That surprises me, there are still plenty of places you can get DDR over here.

yeah thats right...even if they do have a 512MB will cost something like R800...or i can get them online...but it'll be a waste since i'll be upgrading to a new computer...

Gigabyte GA-P35T-DQ6 what do you think of this board?

It's the one with the C, although from what I understand all the C means is that it has DDR3 support.
