Heh, of course it makes a difference but the Freezer 7 was too damn loud to have on a high fan speed. I settled for my high temps because my old Athlon XP used to go so much higher! I ran 70C load on that for far too long lol, 55C for my Core 2 didn't seem that bad... :)

no ways...OC E6750 on a stock cooler...30c on idle...is that even possible...like Estuansis he must be living in a freezer...cooling is a important role...for overclockers...

    What's your rucrrent room temp?
I'm going to guess about 40-50F.

My house thermostat reports 70F. My idle temps right now are one core is 27C, and one is 25C.

EDIT: Also where the thermostat is the temp feels about the same as in my room. Also I love my new PS3, not as much as my xbox, but much better than the Wii.

I see our xbox as more of a burden really. A noisy, crudely built machine that's unfortunately a necessity to be able to play certain games. I wouldn't see a Wii or PS3 as like that I don't think, certainly not the Wii. I always liked games consoles, as they provided all my video game-related entertainment up until I got my first PC at age 11, and still provide many fun hours today. However, the console business is slowly killing off the PC game industry. A mere half, perhaps less, of all major PC game titles are built from the ground up as PC games now. The rest were all programmed for the PS3 and 360 first, meaning that not only are they subject to console's limitations (such as the inventory system for Bioshock being scaled back so it could be used with a gamepad) but they are also very poorly made ports, with no actual programming checks run on them. Splinter cell Double Agent is such a badly coded game it isn't even playable on the PC. Rainbow Six Vegas just about gets away with it, as long as you're prepared to get a £1500+ PC to get the same graphical quality as the console...

Crudely built? I don't think so. I love my 360 and I think it works well. I use an Intercooler fan device thingy and it keeps it cool.

    Noisy? Maybe :)

Back to the subject at hand. Abuzar... those temps just don't seem possible at 3.6GHz... I can't believe it. I won't... Show us a screen shot of your temps getting that cool.

There's gotta be something wrong there.

Also, do you have Intel Speedstep enabled? That might account for the stupidly low idle temps, but what are your load temps?

    Please tell me you're joking.
You do realise that intercoolers make the cooling worse right?

My results contradict that statement. Before, my Xbox was hot to the touch after playing Halo 3 for a few hours. When I put on the Intercooler, it became only slightly warm after 5 or 6 hours playing.

It obviously isn't the one that bolts onto the back of the unit then, because those things suck bad. Our 360 onlt gets slightly warm when playing Halo 3, the only hot bit is the air coming out the back. Perhaps you had faulty fans, which may explain why the intercooler works for you.

Actually it's not that the intercooler makes it hotter, but the fact that it uses the same powersourse as the xbox. That was it takes up juice FROM the xbox and shorts it out. I would suggest you stop using it.

Anyway I don't have speedstep enabled, here I will post a screenshot.

    IDLE:[IMG]

    LOAD:[IMG]

    BIG difference huh?

    HUGE difference!

THAT explains it. Keeps it cool at idle, but shoots up at load.

Those temps are good enough, but I would recommend an after market cooler in the near future, as it still gets pretty hot.

Yeah I will. I've been doing this long enough to realize that I would need to get that :)

Somebody is interested in my PC though, so if they buy it for 1100 I am good to go. Then I'll build ANOTHER one which will include a cooler from the start.

Hehe wow, the customers keep rolling in eh?
I really want to start selling PCs to people, but I just don't know whether there'll be sufficient market for me to do it.
I enjoy building PCs and I'm sure there's money to be made, but how much?
I'll need starting capital first too....
    <sighs>

Well there is a market out there, but you have to understand that you might have to end up keeping it as well. I think a lot of it has to do with luck.

dont build before you sell. get the order in first, and then buy the parts.

Well I built this for myself but someone is interested in it. I don't like to pass up opportunities to make money.
