Really? I could have sworn that the 1000+ FPS I was getting outdoors in Oblivion were because of Magic not because my computer was fast! Dang it now I need to get it back from my cousin.(Runs away to cousins house)
Hehe, integrated graphics (shudders) Doom 3 on Ultra detail's not to be recommended. Quake 4 is worse. I can run it at any res on high, but on ultra and it never runs smoothly, no matter what I do...
Likewise with my X1800XT. One of the first true examples of how 512MB of video memory helps... obviously still not enough for you, eh sam?
I think, though, that Quake 4 was better than Doom 3. Better action, competent friends, challenging AI. My parents' computer with the 7600GT handles it with everything on high at 1280 x 1024. So it scales well. It just gets finicky with some of my cards on Ultra. X850XT is borderline choppy, X1800XT has stuttering, 7600GT is a bit better than both, and the 8800GTX is the only one without problems EDIT: I have nothing but immense respect for my X850XT. It's age is apparent but it still kicks some ass despite being 3 years old.
I really couldn't say, but I can't say i've noticed much of a difference between high and ultra anyway, so I don't really care!
The 8800GTS is the better card for the money. I just got the GTX because I wanted the very best at the time.
I usually max out the settings on all games if I can, but with Quake 4 it doesn't bother me that it's only on high, because I can't tell the difference.
I feel like killing my self after reading this. What a n00b was I? I wanted a mid-high end comp for £500...HAHAHAHA and a 100/200GB raptor..HAHAHAHAHA I didn't care about the brand of RAM, and for me any 550W PSU would have done....EEEEEKKKKKKK I am amazed how much i have learnt after what i wrote thier.
Wow, I just never said anything because I didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings. But yes, "n00biest" post I've seen in a long time...
Has anybody noticed a large drop in core 2 duo prices, or am I just late in spotting it? I looked a couple of days ago and spotted an E6750 for almost the same price I paid for my E4300!
The E6750 is as much as a E6400 was 3-4 months ago! I'm trying to sell my old E6400 so I can get a E6750.
