no, but I run mine at full speed due to my high OC.

 

Well I prefer the freezer because of the simple fact that I already bought it and I like to be happy with what I have.

 

Bah, yours is only a 50% OC, I can run my fan at minimum speed and get away with it, at load too!

 

you would be happy with either as both are high quality performance hsf's.

 

Actually I think it is a 25 percent overclock, but my math may be bad.

what's that supposed to mean. everybody knows the E4300 will OC more than the E6xxx series cpu's but can you reach 3.6ghz. I don't think so.

Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4ghz CPU @ 3.6ghz,

3.6/2.4 = 1.5
Therefore, 50%

Maybe you are right! I just came back from hooking up the P4 I sold 5 months ago and the 9500 is a lot quieter in the CM Cavalier case. I never had it in my Cavalier, so maybe it was something in the case design. Didn't realize that until today! LOL!! Both are excellent coolers so either choice is a good one!

Your 50% overclock will eat my 80% overclock for lunch! I've seen your benches! LOL!! I know of no one that has ever achieved 3.6 with an E4300! About 90% get to 3.0 and that's it! I consider myself lucky at 3.2!

I don't know, but the way I do it always agrees with OCCT and Sandra! Must be the right way to do it! ROFLMAO!! To be precise, mine is a 78% OC!!

Actually 50% of 2400 is 1200. Plus my base speed is 2.13 GHz and my overclocked speed is 2.656 GHz. 2.13*1.5(150%)= 3.195 GHZ, so it isn't fifty percent. 2.13*1.25= 2.66(Much closer to my speed) so it's about a 25% overclock.

We weren't meaning yours. We were talking about Mort81's E6600 overclocked to 3.6GHz! Yours is correct at 25%!

I wasn't talking about yours, I was talking about Mort's. Besides, over suggests above what there is already, so 150% is 50% above, or a 50% OVER clock.

 

All he showed was an equation, which wasn't correct. I know what Russ meant I was just kidding around.
