Hey estuansis, over on: the other thread sam and I have been trying to get some of the same view shots you and I have been working on. Sam found my original high view place at the Race Dog to the Missile site, and then he went to the beginning of Riding Shotgun, and snagged the shot that you and I have. So tomorrow or whatever I'll post over here. Still hoping you'll crank up the 1920x1200 rig and take the same shot - we prefer how you composed it getting the little dip in the hills between the two trees on the left, that's what Sam did too, so ultimately, next Wed, I'm going to reshoot from that same place myself.

We're having a little discussion about width for the forum, and Sam thinks my desktop is too narrow, at 1024. I run a 1024 x 768 desktop and I have for years. I can go 1280 wide. Is that a comfortable width for everybody? My issue with Sam's pictures at 1024 wide is that they are too large for this forum based on my settings of 1024 wide, because the forum allows for a frame with a side scroll bar, so to read the posts, I am scrolling from side to side.

So I wonder if we should poll everybody and see what size desktops people are running - maybe I'm behind the times which wouldn't surprise me.

Hey Abuzar, Estuansis, Shaffaaf, Dinc, Sammorris (we already know - monster 2560x1600 desktop - follow top link) Core2kid, Greensman, icemen, Hiteck - what width desktop do you run, so we know what max width pics we should post here? For me a 1024 pic is too wide, but I'll change my desktop if everybody is running wider. lol

Dont worry about me. I'll bitch about it either way.

If my cooler works I will have my 3Dmark score up in an hour or so.

We're all using standard ppi monitors, i.e. the more pixels you have, the bigger the monitor gets, so at the desktop at least, everything is the same size. In games of course, they get bigger.
I'm about 18 inches from my 30" monitor.

I agree - it just gets too tiny. Besides I can't go any wider than 1280 on my day to day (my gaming is 1600x1200).

So here's what I have so far:
    dragnandy: 1920
    greensman: 1280
me Rich: 1024 (I see I'm going to have to move up to 1280)
    sam 2560 (fuggettaboutit!)
    shaff 1920
abuzar whatever - he'll adapt he says (he changes equip every day lol
    dinc ????? hasn't answered
estuansis ???? depends on his rig - which one does he use for this forum?

ANYBODY ELSE OUT THERE WANT TO HELP - I THINK WE'RE GOING TO STANDARDIZE ON 1280 WIDE, AND POST PICS 1024 WIDE - YEAH GREENSMAN YOU GOT IT - ITS ABOUT POSTING PICS INNIT IT! WELL YOU WANT SOME PICS DON'T YOU???

Greensman, what else do you need to know about EP2 anyway? Just buy it - $14.99 on Steam. I finally downloaded it two weeks ago and - well you've seen the screenies, I rest my case. Pop over to the other forum thread for a bunch more pics. starting right here on page 81

Unfortunately my cooler doesn't QUITE work right, so those 3dmark scores will have to wait.

Yeah, you shouldn't be breaking 60*C with a Tuniq Tower 120. I got in the mid 50's load with my current OC. Got high 50's with the AC Freezer 7 Pro.

And as to desktop resolution. I use 1680 x 1050 on my 24" and 1024 x 768 on the 17". I usually use the 17" for internet and forums if my parents aren't on it.

I'll get around to more screenies eventually :p

Yeah, I think I will lap it and wait for the new screws.

What grits of sandpaper should I get?

I used 1000 grit for the final surface and then polished the copper to a mirror shine.
