    lol

Spacers are for the weak of mind. I keep the case and mobo apart using my mind.

    For the non-telepathic, however, they're recommended! :)

Two separate shops now list the HD4870X2 as coming soon for £323, it's looking quite likely that will be the rough price of the card, which works out at £275+VAT. With any luck the card will appear in bigger shops for £269.99+VAT on release.

Maybe not 5 pounds, but they're certainly handy to have around.

Lol my friend just paid $300 for a 9800GTX when I told him to go 4870. Now he wants to offer me his Q6600 in return for my OC'd X2 3800+ because Intel "is giving him problems". Here's the kicker. He wants to trade RAM and motherboards too!!!!!!!! He has an XFX 680i and 4GB of OCZ PLATINUM!!!!!!!

LMAO should I rip him off???? He REFUSES to listen to my advice at all and he's pretty much tech retarded aside from putting new parts in.

Seriously though. My advice is to avoid parts from PC shops if you don't know what you're buying. I'm lucky enough to have a local shop with decent prices and good quality brands. They carry a few Corsair PSUs and some Enermax stuff too. So the local yokels don't get screwed over. Though the fastest card he has is an XFX 8800GT XXX or an HIS 3870.

Depends on how loosely you are using the word "friend". That is hilarious though.

Well remember, the $600 service Mo charged was 4 different occasions - all for the one PC - and he gets $95 minimum now - smart guy. He's the best around, even if he has to learn from you guys: amps on the 12 volt rail, not total wattage! PC Club used to send him their difficult cases. PC Club just completely closed down all their stores, and Mo hired their two techs - so he's expanding. For a long time I told him to increase his service fee - everybody else charges more, Best Buy, Comp USA, and the techs there don't know what Mo knows.

How do I get mind training so I don't need mobo spacers, and while I'm at it I would also like to triple my current gfx capabilities as well as pick up shader 3.0. Do I study Islam, or do I study Tibetan meditation?

Did you take any courses, boozer, or were you just born that way, as in MUTANT!!!

    lol I'm seriously tempted.

We don't have a Best Buy or a Comp USA. And I don't know what Frank(our local guy) charges since I've never needed his expertise. But he's definitely tech savvy and he definitely makes money. His main rig is a QX6700 OC'd to 3.4GHz, 4GB of Corsair XMS2, and Xfire 4850's(for now he says). Not sure on the other details but he for sure knows his stuff and doesn't scalp people with his prices.

giving him problems? I wonder what the problem is? AHEM, 680i. Just sell him a new motherboard and force him to keep the CPU, at gunpoint if necessary... lol

I'd have issues NOT taking his stuff if he's that stupid!!! Really what's his "issues"??? LOL. I can see the XFX 680i giving him fits but they can be overcome I'm sure. What about an RMA... then sell the mobo and use that money to get something with an Intel chipset. Screw nVidia I say!!! lol. I think the least you can do is talk him into another mobo so he can use the CPU that he already has..... LOL. If he's insistent on trading then SO BE IT!!!! :D Ok my 2¢ are over... :p

What, are all you guys turning into gunfighters - look at greensman's new sig. Boozer, is that what your 9 looks like? I still like your western revolver sig, but I have to admit that greensman's 9 looks wicked!! Well nice to have all these weapons on display. Lol

Also good to have shaff post and get a bit of humanity sig-wise! Lol

Boozer, fly out here to So Cali and hang around Mo's shop for a couple of weeks. He does zero advertising, and once you see what he does, you could probably get started for free on Craig's list in - what city did you say - Sanford?? You can stay at my place and bike over to Mo's shop a mile away. I've got the bike. Lol (Seriously - aren't you still on summer break?)

lol Tickets are expensive these days so I'm gonna have to pass on that. I've sold about 15 computers on craigslist so far. Maybe I need to start offering my PC repair services? The thing is, there is no Sanford craigslist. There is a Orlando craigslist, but that's a lot of people and a lot of competition.

    A veritable handheld Nuke... :p

I'd love to get into the PC sale/repair business, but I have no front for it really...

Well that's it, I'm confident enough to design, build, repair etc. within reason, but if it means starting a business, my parents' house is hardly a suitable venue, and the technical stuff to starting a business like that is quite complex.
