LOL! An experience with electricity is certainly no laughing matter either.

Sam, this is the game you guys have raved about in the past? It's only 10$, and it doesn't support windows 7 :S

I play it fine on Windows 7 without any special tricks.

I figured as much. Compatibility issues are really quite moot/rare when it comes to windows 7. :D You think it's worth 10$? Or should I forget it, and get the new one? I love racing games :)

For $10 it's a steal. Just be warned it's a realistic sim-type racer. Also be warned it's more demanding than Grid or Dirt 2. Your GTX260 should handle it well enough though.

Thanks Jeff. I more than likely will get it. I wonder how much a hard copy at walmart is...

What exactly do you mean by sim-type racer? LOL! compare to Gran turismo perhaps?

Real racing series, racing real cars with realistic difficulty, damage and handling physics. ie a Sim racer, not an arcade racer. Gran Turismo is somewhat similar in that respect but you'll see quickly that the two games are very different. Dirt/Grid have depth in ways that Gran Turismo doesn't and vice versa.

Those numbers make me wonder what the game actually looks like lol. Don't think I've seen anything that easy to run in a while.

Indeed, a full 60fps continuous at 4 megapixel res with a single HD5870 is pretty unusual these days. The game actually looks pretty good from the screenshots I've seen. Nothing groundbreaking, but perfectly good enough.

What's scafu about it? The gory violence or the game itself?

no, gore i an take, i love watching that. Its the damn game. The shifting between reality and the mangled version of what he sees. The way the creatures act dead. When you think after shooting then they are, you come closer and bang, they arnt. When you run over them and their body moves, making you think they are alive, but they are just dead.

i love watching horror films, but this genuinely scared me. How bad was the first one?

The first one was so bad I had to have a friend over during a bright day to finish it. Not gonna lie the devs really know how to make a scary game. The graphics and atmosphere are excellent. Their sound design is superb as well. 90% of the scares are set up by the sound.

The second game better be even scarier :p

The first one was downright scary. Possibly moreso than the second will be, because the controls were so bad. With VSyn off, the character has the responsiveness of a bus. With VSync on, he has the responsiveness of an ocean liner. It's all very well there being scary stuff, but when you can't immediately duck away from it and have to slide the mouse all the way across the mousemat several times to turn 180 degrees, it's terrifying :p

Easily remedied with an Xbox 360 controller which the game was designed to be played with...

I'm so glad I bought one. GTA IV works perfectly, and I'm sure there are others that I'll benefit from :p And I don't have to work with hacks anymore. Which wasn't that bad I guess...

Yeah it's probably just about the best PC gamepad ever made. I use it for everything from PS2 emulation to racing games. Works great.
