I've been saving up for one or two of those myself and just realized when reading your post that with the increased size of the monitors I won't have enough room on my table/desk for speakers lol.

My speaker towers, are on the sides of the desk. 12" woofers :D Though I definitely like the Quad 10" woofer towers that my brother is borrowing from me. These 12's are very good though. Suffice to say, I don't have any speakers on my desk. I also have two 5.25" speakers hanging on the wall behind the desk. I rarely switch that amplifer channel on though. They're rather loud. I rarely get the chance to use my stereo the way it was intended. I really need a second job, so I can get the hell out of mothers house, and can actually afford the things I need/want ;) I greatly appreciate my mother. That goes without saying. But we do need our space, don't we ;)

On a side not, headphones are very fine as well. But I can't even do that. I feel uncomfortable doing that, for I might miss something. If I were alone, no big deal. But I feel like I'm drowning the world out, when others are around :S

Every Dell ultrasharp right down to the 17" has had a USB hub in it. Not sure when the card readers started, I think it's either at 20" or 24". Either way, all the 24s and all the 30s definitely have card readers. Very handy.

When all else fails, fresh tactics. I had a little tv laying around :D I don't want to wait around for an expensive adapter guaranteed to work.

How well do you need it to play bulletstorm? Bare minimum, or smooth gameplay? Basic graphics, or high detail? What size monitor do you use, and how much can you spend?

Most modern boards with a decent dual/quad core cpu should run it, but as Sam says, just how smooth do you want to run it? Contrary to what some say, an integrated graphics chip can run games, however you would have to drop the settings probably greatly. Just how obsessed with Silky smooth gameplay are you interested in? ;)

well I picked up a cheap p55 mobo, for 17 quid. So looks like the q6600 could be off. How much do they fetch nowadays? I have also had an offer for a 6870 for 120, I'm sure I could bargin him down to 100-110, sould I take it? It is refernce, and how loud are they? Also now I just need a cheap i5 750/760. If anyone scouts any, let me know!

HD6870s aren't the quietest reference cards in the world, but they're reasonable to live with. How quiet is quiet enough is as I'm sure you know, very subjective.

haha true. Well could you live with them? Its either that, or a 5850. Both around the sam price. The 5850 woulndt be second hand though. Your not upgrading your CPU yet are ya sam?

I've not been near an HD6870 so I can't say personally what they're like, I only have reviews and rough fan speed figures to go on. The cooler on the HD6870 is quite weak for the TDP of the card, so fan speeds are reasonably high at full load, around 3000rpm @ 34dB in furmark. However, that's furmark, not real-world gameplay.

Oh and no, haha, my CPU's here to stay for quite some time.

hmm, well my headphones/speakers drown out the sound during gaming, hopefully idle is fine.

hmmm, just realised I need some ram aswell, as its ddr3. Hopefully I can find 8GB of it for under 50 second hand.

any see that mw3 got leaked?

Idle is a lot quieter than most cards, idle noise won't be an issue at all.
RAM is fairly cheap for DDR3 these days, 8GB is only £70 new for 1333mhz.
Should I care about Modern Warfare 3? I mean really?

no, you shouldnt care, I dont think anyone does. Itll still sell load and be crap. Cant wait for bf3 me. But knowing myself, I will still end up buying it, hoping itll be like cod4 again.

I know its cheap, but I'm being ever cheaper. Really upgrading my pc on a budget.
trying to also get a decent SSD either 60 or 80gb for under 80 quid aswell.

£69. It's enough for everything I need an SSD for.

I've been quoted before. Not sure how the coding of those bots works, in who it picks to quote.
