yeah, but i don't think people can fork out money for a HD4870 x2, they might get a HD4870 now and another one later. But less power is still better. what about the heat for X2? is is better than having CF HD4870?

Man, GTR, that HAF case is a case and a half! High Air Flow. Of course it's a full-size tower versus NZXT midsize. It doesn't cost much - only about $20 more than the Tempest.

Three 230mm fans at 75 cfm each - wow! Sam what do you think of the review?

The reviewer mentioned putting in a radiator and up to 3 120mm fans, I guess cooling the radiator. Am I right that these fans would be additional fans - not replacing any of the 4 main fans (3 of which are 230mm) that come with the case?

Also, I noticed that in his comments, he mentioned that none of the other cases he tested had a top fan, and I guess he was testing just tower cases. But the Tempest DOES have a 120mm top fan, and it is also a 4 fan - plus optional 3 more = 7 fan case.

Sam what is your verdict? I know you like the bigger fans because they can move more air, at lower revs, for less noise. Do the 230mm look to you like the right way to go - given all the heat the 4870x2 puts out?

The HAF is a nice case and well thought out, I like it.
As for 4870s, I think the 4870X2 is better than original Crossfired 4870s in every way, power consumption, heat, noise, the works.

and price sam :D though with the current GTX280s being £300 its worth the extra £50 or so, but when they were £240 it was not.

and the tempest has 2 140mm at the top, and to fit a 120.3 on top the top you need to move the top 230mm fan.

I like Lian-Li cases overall, but the PC-A70B is one of the more ugly ones. It's not unpleasant, but it just doesn't look correctly proportioned. Then again, few full towers do.

ewwww boozer, thats one of the WORST lian-lis.
its not elegant at all, its the opposite, its antec 1200ish.

their newer ones are all like that, withthe flashey blue, you seen this crap? http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showp...P80R ATI Special Edition Aluminium Case - Red

    horrible to say the least.

the PC-A70B is the doorless version, there is also the PC-A71B which has a door infront, but i dont liek doors much, so i chose the PC-A70B. plus the room inside is superb, its humungous. bigger then the amazing silverstone TJ-07.

the best case makers are Silverstone and Lian-Li and now coolermaster, due to them bringing back the ATCS series of cases. (IMO)

    lol

I think the best cases by far for accessibility and ease-of-use would be the RaidMax Smilodon or the Cooler Master Centurion.

Wow Shaff - you're harsh. You don't like that red case?? It's a show-stopper. Don't tell me you don't like red - look at your stunning sig!

Red's a great color - if you're a girl. I am totally kidding, not sexist at all, you girls out there, and overall I AM JUST KIDDING - I love red.

No seriously, there's different ways of showing off a person's computer.

There's the cool blue industrial superman in the Clark Kent outfit, which I take it is more your style Shaff, and there's Bling Bling Bling RED FLASH ****** LOOK AT ME I'M THE BOMB!!!! which makes more of a statement (Kent went out into the phone booth and changed, and now we're looking at the full cape and the big Red S for Superman) but that doesn't mean it isn't a good case regarding cooling, cabling, and ease of use.

I guess it depends on your mood.

Anyway, Shaff, since you DO like coolmaster, what's your thought on that HAF case a little bit up on the page that GTR says he's gonna get, and Sam says he likes. And boozer, since your opinion is more important than anybody else's, according to ....... YOU ..... LOL ....... what are YOUR thoughts also about that HAF case - 230mm fans - biggest baddest fans in town!!! What do you think, Estuansis?

Oh and the Haf is cool. I like it.

and yes my opinion IS better. Also, I get points for having built more computers than all of you!!! mhuahhuahuaah

Actually you're right. You get a lot of points for having built a lot more computers than anybody else.

NOW HOW MANY POINTS DO WE HAVE TO SUBTRACT SINCE YOU NO LONGER EVEN OWN A COMPUTER AND YOU ONLY GAME WITH CONSOLES?????

    Hahahahahahahahaha!

For those of you who came late to the discussion this is Shaff's next case:

The PC-A70B isn't very nice. The Armorsuit is nasty, that red case though is just plain revolting. Lian Lis should be like the PC-A07, elegant and simplistic, without ugly angles...

Shaff - I wondered if that would get your attention! LOL

You finally put the pic of your case out there - MAN I have to agree - looks so elegant it might as well be wearing a tuxedo. VERY NICE indeed.

I liked the HAF - but I'll have to go back and check the picture again because your case looks so Buckingham Palace!!

    haha.

i love that case, removable mobo tray, silent, good cooling, PSU to go top or bottom etc etc etc.

brilliant case, and with the mods done to it, best £250 i will have spent. should be here with me latest on friday this week. will get pics up :)

costs about !320 with the mods, around the same price as the HAF. personally this is an amazing case aswell:

How much more do you guys pay over there? In the review it mentioned a price on the HAF of $159?? If you paid ₤310 pounds sterling for the Lian-Li, isn't that like $450 or something?

Here is the HAF next to the Lian-Li.

You know, it's the same stuff that you were just talking about, Shaff, flashy and macho versus under-stated elegance, plastic versus aluminum, Las Vegas versus Buckingham Palace.

I guess it would depend on my mood - that day. Sometimes you want to wear a tux and dress to impress, othertimes you feel like getting all casual with the flowery shirt and the thongs.

What's your decision GTR - going for the 230mm fans??
