Boozer, talking about relationships - I thought you had it made compared to Shaff and Sam and GTR and Estuansis, and me. I thought you didn't have any girl problems - you were just going to marry your cousin, right?

Estuansis, you broke out Far Cry again!! Yeah I remember the HDR. Valve was just messing with it in that little HL2 giveaway segment with the old man at the seashore, before they finished EP1.

Well the missile trigens are scary bastards, that's for sure, but it's interesting - they shoot the missile straight at you from their right hand, and if you stand still, it goes right past you on your left. That first place they introduce them when you kill the merc and take over his 50 in the building, you see that effect. They are coming at you firing the missiles, and you are locked into the 50, but all the missiles go right past you on your left.

The little trigens are quick scary little guys. I never tried this, but the forum I went to said you could hide from them in the bushes, same as hiding from the mercs.

Yeah, with some patience, the game can be beat. But you are right - it's not exactly like COD4 even on highest difficulty, where you can usually take a hit and duck, and then recover. Those mercs will blow your head right off. It's more like COD4 MP going up against a SAW - you're dead before you know the guy was even there.

That's why they call it realistic.

I went back to the game after beating it without rocks, and tested this out - it works: Beat it a little more easily by 1. throwing rocks, then 2. check the danger meter. The forum guy said the AI mercs always go from Green - they are relaxed, to Yellow - they are somewhat alerted, to Red - they are on high alert looking around for you. They take about 2 seconds or so to go through those distinct changes, and you can see the colors changing on the danger meter.

The forum leader became such a stealth fanatic, he went through practically the whole game on knife only - even the top of the aircraft carrier - of course he took out the helicopter like I did before he got up there.

YOUR way of jumping out at the beginning is a way to skip the whole thing - that works too - but if I sent you my saved games for the aircraft carrier, you could play that one part on realistic setting, where you'll be climbing up the ladder, the heli is already dead, and you have the p90 and the colt - total of 80 rapid fire rounds on the Q quick change key - plus about 5 grenades. You sneak up, hide behind the boxes, and take out the guy on the platform behind the mounted machine gun - before he notices you preferably. (The forum leader took out that guy with his knife then used the machine gun on everybody else) When you are crouched down with the colt on single action mode, you have almost the same level of accuracy and impact with head shots as a sniper rifle - one shot head-shot kill. Then all the mercs are there and start closing in - you lob grenades, change to the p90, kill a bunch of them, use the colt for farther distance, and you will actually see the mercs retreat - one of the very few times in the game that they run from you.

Let me know if you're interested, and I'll zip up the saves from that section, or any other, and email to you, or I'll go to my web site and see how to make fts (??) file transfer work, the way the internet used to operate before the web.

If I figure out how that works - maybe Sam knows - I can store the saved game files there, and you can download as you like and try them.

lol nto from ebay, from another forum, is a brilliant case, but then while i was cleaning it today my brother buckled over it and now it leans bent, and the PSU cage is now mashed.



well he now paid me the money i lost, but atleast i got a floppy and a DVD drove from it LOOL, and ill take it to york and see if sam will help me fix it
