    Hahahahahaha,

Well ok, Shaff, so those are your cousins - only two to choose from. Hmmmmm. Ray and booze what about you guys? Poor shaff doesn't have a lot of choice, but certainly you guys must come from larger extended families?

Shaff, I might have known - coming right after Cincy said he was sorry about getting off-thread discussing cases LOL Well, I WAS asking for some cousin pictures, so my bad. (or my good lol)

Trying to choose between your two "cousins" (why do those pictures look familiar) I guess that's what it's like trying to pick the HAF verus the Lian-Li. (Loco that was precisely Shaff's point - don't boot him again - he's running out of user names - and he hates being a newbie lol.)

Well, ok Shaff, I guess my preference is the one on the bottom. You should marry her I think.

Speaking of top and bottom - cincy - the all-mesh idea versus fans on top. I know what you're saying about all-mesh, it's all open at the top. BUT - passive cooling relying on rising heat - versus active cooling where fans are actually sucking up the heat and blowing it out the top - I think from an engineering fluid flow perspective, that I would choose the active method - having top mounted fans.

What do you guys think - open all-mesh, versus closed but with top fans. What's better for cooling?

LMAO... being loud isnt part of the equation....lol we know it would be like in air hanger for you sam...lol

i see waht your sayin Rich. but i look at it like this... i have the ablity to have my fans suck out the riseing heat, and what they dont get can escape on its own free will...

Shaff that first lady if she was your cousin would mean we are related thats my sis....lol

floppy and hard drives? - 'fraid I missed your point.

    Just kidding! You're incorrigible! LOL

Well, Cincyrob, noise certainly IS part of the equation - I guess. Well not so much for me right now since I game with headphones. But who knows, after estuansis enthused so much about crysis gaming on his sister's HD TV - I might one day decide to try that out too, so who wants a loud case competing with the HD speakers?

shaff - you better lock the room that your case gets put into and don't give your little bro the key. If he buckles Buckingham Palace when you finally get it back - we'll be watching it on the tele and it will be a very sad family situation. Or, maybe as punishment he would just have to marry the cousin that you reject - the one on top, cincy's sister, because my vote was for the one on bottom.

So, cincy, you're the 4th pakistani in our group??? Throw some urdu at us! LOL

Hey buds - this just in from my family member Miles Estes (I'm Rich Estes) who did all the animating for Left 4 Dead, the Southern California Turtle Rock Studios (now owned by Valve of Seattle, Washington) original production for Valve - they're spending $10,000,000 on the ad campaign!!!

Valve ten million dollar ad campaign for zombie coop multiplayer

LOOOOOOOL haha, one has the best posts LOOL!

rob, speak some urdu for us PLEASE :D

this thread is going the way of our old one LOOL!

see this is how a thread should be though, FUN and informative when it needs to be, not the tension of posting something on the OCing or Official building thread and getting attacked for it! lool

trust me, the key is old, i used the creapy little girl from bioshock to guard the palace (lovely name BTW :D)

i will get pics of it up once i get to my uni halls, and then hopefully sam will come around, ill make some curry for him, and well picture him with the case aswell!

haha, soon sam will be speaking urdu here aswell HAHA

yeah, dude, I thought I told you that - plus most of that chick you love, Alyx lol.

Wow, one day soon a pic of Sam and Shaff eating curry (with lava-hot spices) at Shaff's place, with the "Palace." (and Shaff's little brother in the background in chains.)

Wow just now I found out my Kama Bay intake fan has been sitting there spoiled by the filter stuck in the fan - beware you kama bay users if you upgrade to 1600 rpm. No wonder the air that has made it out the back is SOOO hot - it's been hot - and I've been getting a few weird artifacts on COD4 mp too. Anyway, I made a circular loop out of coat hangar to add more metal holding back the filter, but which pushed the long thing X springs they had so they were touching the blades - I found some tiny washers - but there is still a bit of fan on metal skimming sound. Sam you'd be bonkers but I'm not going to sweat it - one day the blade will just wear down in that place, or maybe some day I'll put on two washers. It's just a faint sound, but it IS still slightly touching.

But NOW I HAVE MASSIVE AIRFLOW AGAIN HOOOORAY!!! Let's see how hot it runs next Wednesday - gaming day!!

Lol, i'm surpirse you have good eye sight, because my eyes are getting really bad. I think it's because of my 15" so i have to sit closer to the monitor.
Seriously the NXZT case you have is Sweet!

Hey thats my problem too, first i was thinking which one to get then i decided to get the case instead, because cases usually last much longer than GPUs.
Reading your comment, it seems you're recommending CM590. CM690 is a bit taller than CM590 but doesn't that mean it has bit more space for airflow/components?

Lol, don't be since i'm the one that really started this case discussion

    yeah *tears* can't help it.
No bloody way! I love the Tempest it's just that i can't get it in SA other wise i would've chosen Tempest and not having troubles picking cases.

    @Spam
LOL, you know what? I'll take both!

I might have known you wouldn't let me get away with that, haha. I woke up today and said to myself - "Just take the kama bay apart again and put another set of bloody washers on - Sam is going to give you sh*t about being lazy again."

(I had the same thought - even the tiniest bit of sideways pressure cannot not be good for long fan life - I've already got the side panels off lol.)

Shaff I already AM into comedy - this is the comedy thread - didn't they tell you that? Comedy, plus a little bit of technology thrown in for good measure.

Speaking of comedy - I had to go to traffic school to get rid of a speeding point - $210 for going 60 in a 45, just heading down a hill on the way to the post office. (A friend told me the motorcycle cops hide behind the park maintenance building and use their radar. So my eyes are now glued to the speedometer at all times. lol)

But they used to have comedy traffic school classes. The company that ran them was called Lettuce Entertain You. The idea was that you would pay more attention with a little levity thrown in - kind of Shaff's point. But this class last Saturday was more serious - although the very nice South African lady had a lovely British accent. The new idea is - "Why are you an aggressive driver?" - the psychology of aggressive driving, versus a more laid-back safer style. It was bloody hard to stay awake for 8 hours, but it DID get me thinking.

I told a female relative the other day - "why are YOU an aggressive driver." She decided to introduce some comedy and made me get out and walk home.

Just kidding. But hopefully it made her think a little - I told her all about the class.

And the reason this is not off-thread is ... (help me out shaff.) Lol.

Yeah, where you been Boozer? You mean to tell me that Rob was lying about shaff's cousin being his sister? So there is actually somebody on this thread who doesn't tell the 100% honest truth 100% of the time? That's it - I'm gonna have to spend all day tomorrow in church to try to get my faith back!

GTR, you DO like the Tempest. That's good to hear, finally. I was really warming up to the HAF, but if they've bumped the price up to the moon .... BTW, where is SA where you can't get the Tempest - oh, South Africa?? Like the traffic school teacher!! lol

Cricket, cricket, cricket! You know, I've been flipping the channels and I can't find any cricket matches. (CAUSE NOBODY IS INTERESTED!)

Just kidding Abuzar. LOL I'm glad the home team won. Kuddos to Pakistan!

Boozer, you're the big system builder - 20 systems or so, right? If one were to think in terms of a 4870 - or next year's version - and get a two slot graphics card with with rear exhaust cooler, (starting with one card, then adding another at a future date) then a crossfire mobo would have to have 4 high performance pci-e slots. Is that easy to find - or does that take one into HIGH prices?

Umm, I don't think 4 PCI-E slots exists on a regular motherboard. I've seen three, not 4. Anyway, you only need 2 PCI-E slots to have Xfire 4870s(or next years version)
